Mike (theneverendingtbr) Finished The Midnight Library by Matt Haig yesterday and loved it, it was so different to what I usually read and I'm glad I read it.

I recommend if you like thought-provoking reads.

If you are using the app, you are correct, there is no option. That is because the GR app is junk. On a PC , tablet or laptop, if you use Goodreads.com NOT the app, those options will appear. Maybe they will show on your phone if you go to the website and do not use the app.

Super bizarre and only a short one so I only paid $1.49 for the e-book. Still trying to work out if it was worth it lol

Die Seeschlange vom Comer See

An exhaustive investigation of Northern Italian lake monsters. German fortean writer Ulrich Magin's conclusion is there is no established tradition of lake monsters in Northern Italian waters yet and they are likely cryptozoological myths in the development stage. He mentioned a few curious lizard man sightings, though. Seems there is an obscure Italian publication on the topic, called "Homo Saurus".

Finished The Stand by Stephen King and Night of Knives (Novels of the Malazan Empire, #1) by Ian C. Esslemont yesterday. The Stand was incredible, I’m having a hard time putting it back on the shelf! Night of Knives was a fun read too. Hope everyone has a fantastic week :)

had a lot of fun with this one! loved the concept as a whole, and felt like the execution was done well, even though the ending fell a little flat for me.

Christopher Conlon (goodreadscomchristopherconlon) | 530 comments Just finished David Case’s Fengriffen & Other Gothic Tales, which I enjoyed, but not quite as much as I wanted to; and today I’ll finish Demiurge: The Complete Cthulhu Mythos Tales of Michael Shea, which I’ve also been enjoying, but also not quite as much as I wanted to.

Randy Money | 432 comments That was my feeling about "Fengriffen," the novella, Christopher. It recalled a couple of Ray Russell's novellas, but just didn't reach that level of enjoyment for me.

Yes! That's exactly what I thought--I even told my wife that "Fengriffen" read a lot like a lesser Ray Russell story.

Billy Summers by Stephen King
I was really enjoying it and then the last 90 pages were so absurd and awful it just ruined the whole book for me.

message 439: by Char (new)

Char | 17459 comments Oh no! I set that aside since I knew I wouldn't have time to read it this month-but man, reviews are all over the place on that one.

I'm happy that you enjoyed it, Wendy! I know it's not a book for everyone.

Looks good.
I've got a pile of Collings' books on my Kindle and really have to make an effort to get to some of them.

And about The Delicate Dependency, it had a style of writing that I adore. It really set the mood for the story. I had an idea that several things weren't as they seemed but I liked that the story still kept me guessing.
