I've read a ton of Laymon but Island is my fave or his, also really enjoyed Blood Games.

I enjoyed AmaraA

I also have read a lot of Jack Ketchum. I highly recommend Ladies' Night. Not for the faint of heart, but well worth is. Also The Troop by Nick Cutter. And if you like your splatterpunk with a bit of humor Infected by Scott Sigler. This is a series and i really enjoyed it. I admit. I go through splatterpunk phases. I'm a weirdo.

Thanks! I read The Troop last year and enjoyed it.
Starting Eden by Lebbon.. I'm having such a hard time picking a read, sheesh... it has some mixed reviews but I love this type of story.
From the bestselling author of The Silence comes a brand-new supernatural eco thriller. In large areas of the planet, nature is no longer humanity's friend...

I do enjoy Lovecraft but I definitely have to be in the mood for his writing style.

@WendyB: I know, I found this book thanks to your recommendation in the alien horror sub-genre discussion ^^ I think I'll go for that one :-)

I'm in deep smitten over the infected series. Humor and horror in the perfect combination.
I started reading "infected" yesterday, so far I like it :-) Thanks for the recommendation, I wouldn't have found this one by myself!
Just finished Mystery Walk by Robert R. McCammon, thoughts on that..https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'm going to start The Great And Secret Show by Clive Barker next! :)
Just finished 'Seconds' by Bryan Lee O'Malley Thoughts..

Going to finish off The Great And Secret Show by Clive Barker now! :)
About halfway through Sleeping Beauties and really liking it. It's been on my tbr for a few years but because it's a real doorstopper (700 pgs!) I kept putting off reading it. That's a shame because it reads very fast and has an interesting bit of feminism to it, especially being written by two men.

Haunted by James Herbert, I can’t seem to get enough of him lately!

Scott Sigler is a member of HA, so I'd go with that series!
