Those books are finally getting a bigger release. I've been wanting to read some of them it seems like forever. I have Goblin on my kindle now, hope to get to it in a reasonable time.

I'm starting Devolution: A Firsthand Account of the Rainier Sasquatch Massacre. This will be my first Max Brooks, since I read World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War.

How is it? I remember thinking World War Z was a neat little collection of short stories when I was a teenager, but I have such a hard time imagining a book about sasquatch being gripping. I've been tempted though.

I'm currently reading The Blacktongue Thief by Christopher Buehlman, it's the first in his new fantasy series. I'm hoping it gets some more horror vibes later on, The Suicide Motor Club was one of the tensest books I've ever read.

So far, so good! It stars with Mt Rainer erupting, and a trapped eco-community. The tension is very high. It is set up in a similar fashion to WWZ, diary entries and interviews.

It is. I've gotten to read a few of them but some are still not available unless you want to spend the really big bucks for just one book, like $50 or more. Just not gonna do it. I think eventually all of them will be sold at a reasonable price. Seems to be a lot that going on in the book world, with books only available in limited amounts or on special websites. As an avid reader, this annoys me. LOL When it comes to books, I want what I want when I want them. :)

Yeah for the extra room! A little home library is great. I converted an extra bedroom into a small library last year and it's so great to have my books on shelves where they're easy to find... or just to sit and admire all the books! :)

We downsized our home, now that we are empty-nesters, and in the move...... I lost my library :( But I can hardly complain, my partner lost his music room. My local library and church thrift store really made out in out move. I went from 5 built in bookshelves to one book shelf total.

I am so very, very jealous, but we just did not need the 5 bedroom house for two people, and we down-sized to 3 bedrooms. we are sharing the spare room for a library/music room.

I had misgivings about your stated intention, but going over the list of those winners -- useful lists I found recently: SFFH award winners -- while there are some I'm dubious about, there are some really good novels included. Good luck with the readings. I look forward to your comments.

Currently near finished with Those Who Wish Me Dead by Michael Koryta -- excellent thriller so far -- which I think was his return to realistic (maybe not the best word) thrillers after a series of supernatural works. I enjoyed The Cypress House and even more, The Ridge; haven't gotten to the third one yet.

The last few weeks I lost all desire to read and it's really bumming me out, I'm in the process of packing to move at the end of June and with a baby its just hard but it's depressing me. I opened a book yesterday, read 2 pages and put it down. It's weird and really annoying to me to feel this way.

Been there. I got over this phase with simple readings, such as manga and comic books, but I guess YA might do the trick too. I also read somewhere on GR people doing re-reads of their favorite books for the same purpose. (I won't lie to you, it was loooong for me to come over that.) And yeah, it's hard to read with babies requiring your attention all the time!

Thank you Seb, I felt like a Debbie Downer after I wrote that comment and contemplated deleting it but ah, its true so appreciate your support :). Unfortunately all my paper books have been packed up, it took us a week, I'm not allowed to buy any more books for a while lol, and I only have 2 out that I've been currently reading but there are ebooks I guess. I'd love to start a Manga series tho, any recs welcome!

Currently I'm re-(re-re-...)-reading Claymore which is my all-time favorite manga! This is the first manga I would recommend but really there are as many manga types as book genres so it's hard to pick THE one you could like for sure. Claymore is a dark-fantasy one.
