The book is about a girl whose mom goes missing after they have a big argument the day before. The girl is spoiled and likes expensive items. The mom has a good job but it gets to be too much with her daughter's expensive tastes. The girl has to work at a coffee shop to not lose the house since her mom is no longer there to pay the bills. *SPOILER* at the end, it's discovered that the mom had driven off a cliff in an accident and her car was found some months later. There was also a rumor that her mom had embezelled money from her job, but I dont remember if she actually did it or not. This was a young adult novel that I read between 2012 and 2015.
