SOLVED: Adult Fiction > SOLVED. Adult Fantasy. Average Joe from our world is weirdly chill, calm about being randomly transported to fantasy realm. Read around 2012-2014 (published before 2000?). [s]

theStorykeeper | 68 comments A thread in "suggest books for me" got me thinking about this book (pretty sure it wasn't any of the ones suggested).

This book was in MMP with a very 90's (or earlier) cover with a guy in a suit with a briefcase standing on a ledge overlooking a field or plains, possibly with a castle in the background. Knowing my tastes, the title probably had "Dragon" in it. The book started off with a regular guy, say in his 20s, from our modern world, randomly being transported to a fantasy realm, possibly on his way to work. I don't remember a cause or anything - it was just random. The guy was weirdly chill about this throughout the entire book, taking everything in stride and not really caring about getting back home.

I may be confusing this with a different book, but I think he teamed up with some people to help a princess take back her castle from a relative who had kicked her out.

theStorykeeper, around what year did you read this book? A range of years is fine.

I read it around 2012-14, but the book was definitely published much earlier, I would say before 2000.

Yes!! Thank you!

Apparently I did have it marked as Read in my books, but without a date so it got lost. @_@

Colleen Daley | 1 comments Is this one where he faces his latent Catholicism and ends up in a dungeon facing demons who teach him that magic is real or like.. Hell is the absence of love?
