This is a story that takes place in a dystopian setting. The girl is selected (I believe by a lottery) to live in the house of a rich young adult male. However, she is unhappy and eventually escapes and lives on the run. I believe at one point she joins a circus.

Jillian, glad you found your book. I edited the header/topic title to show how we need to add genre and plot details. I took a guess at what sounds like potential spoilers and didn't include them in the header.
