I'd like to read The Desperate Mission by Jude Watson (The Last of the Jedi Series - book #1) in January.
Anybody interested in joining me?

I might be interested in doing a buddy read of that one. I've never read that series by Jude Watson before. I think the library has ebooks of all of them. So I should be able to get a copy through either Libby or Hoopla without any problems. Also, how do you link books without it being the long html address?

Thank you! I'd been wondering how people get these links to look so nice!

That's great, Rebecca. I would like that. Have you read the Jedi Quest series by Jude Watson?
The Last of the Jedi Series is a continuation of that one.
Path To Truth by Jude Watson. That's the first Jedi Quest book.

No, but I should be able to figure stuff out. Also let me know when you get to books 14-16 of Jedi Apprentice. I know I already reread them this year, but that could be a fun buddy read. You might be able to make me think the romance isn't forced and there to excuse a deeper underlying issue that she never fully addresses. Namely, how Tahl's frustrations with other people and how they treat her because of what happened on Melida/Daan continues to impact her and those around her.

How important is it to read Jedi Quest first? Or is it one of those there are enough call backs to not be confusing? I think my library also has Jedi Quest.
The problem is that the main character of The Last of the Jedi is introduced & established in Jedi Quest. He has a whole arc there. I think you'd miss too much skipping Jedi Quest to really enjoy the series.
And yes, I'd love to buddy read that part of Jedi Apprentice with you. That will be fun.

Okay, we can start with Path To Truth.
These books are really short and easy reads. We can start whenever you want. I'll set a buddy read thread for us.
Just show up there when you're ready to start. :D

Yeah, that would be cool. I would like to join you.
Hi, Ivan! Have you read the Jedi Quest series by Jude Watson? I think it's needed to fully enjoy the The Last of the Jedi Series.
If not, you can join me and Rebecca in reading Path To Truth. It's the first Jedi Quest book. We plan to start in January.

Hi, Zuzana! Unfortunately, I didn't read The Last of the Jedi ( but I definitely will) so I would like to join you and Rebecca if possible.
We have a buddy read thread set up here.
We're going to read the Jedi Quest series and after that if we're not burnt out we might continue on to The Last of the Jedi.
You're welcome to join us at any time, Ivan. :)

Hi, anybody interested in reading The Clone Wars by Karen Traviss?
That's the last Legends movie novelization I haven't read. The movie is not very good but it means that the book can only improve on it. :)

On April 1st the new Legends GR will start. BTW Have you nominated a book?
Maybe if I can suggest a date for the buddy read - either March 8th or if you're set on April then April 8th. A lot of people read faster than the group read schedule and will be done by 8th and ready to start a new book. :)

We're debating with Akindle whether to do Canon Group reads. It looks like April slot is not taken yet. I can push for Master and Apprentice for a Canon Group Read starting April 15th. Would you be interested in that?
O.K. I'll talk to Akindle and make M&A the April Canon GR.
In the meantime don't you have another SW book you'd like to buddy read?

We definitely can. I'm curious about this one, too. It's about Obi-Wan and Bail Organa. So March, 8th?

Peter, I'm sorry nobody responded to your request. I don't have the book and I am sadly not interested in buying it. Otherwise I would have buddy read it with you.

Anybody interested in reading Prequel novelizations with me?
The Phantom Menace by Terry Brooks
Attack of the Clones by R.A. Salvatore
Revenge of the Sith by Matthew Woodring Stover
I've read them once before and I am ready to re-read them.

The same. I'm trying to finish several books at once. So no rush. I'll probably get to the novelizations no sooner than at the end of the summer.

Tarria wrote: "Anyone want to BR Labyrinth Of Evil? (Disclaimer: I'm reading a lot of books at the moment so I wouldn't be able to begin just yet, but I could arrange a start date.)"
Tarria, I can put Labyrinth of Evil as one of the options next time we have a Legends Group read poll.

I want to read it even if I'm likely to be disappointed with the changes Disney is making to the story.
You're right that I hated when Qui-Gon was uncommunicative (aka not a good mentor) in JA.
My main trepidation is that because of Master and Apprentice coming after Padawan in the timeline we kinda know beforehand that Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon's relationship isn't going to fully mend (unless they're breaking their own continuity). They are out of step in M&A and we know that's how they've been since the beginning.

Do you have a Star Wars book you want to read but don't want to do it alone? Think it would be more fun to read with someone else? Then find yourself a buddy here.
To request a buddy read, make a comment in this thread stating the name of the book, the author, a link to the book and the start date (if you have a preference).
We'll create a thread as soon as there is any interest in your buddy read.
What Star Wars books are allowed? All of them. Legends, New Canon, Comic books, Non-fiction. The only condition is they have to be Star Wars related.
You can join any ongoing buddy read . Check out the list below.
