Emily Price | 11 comments Boy is at school when all of a sudden all technology stops working. The lights stop working, phones wont turn on, and no one's car works. The main character has a real old car though and it works leading to the realization that everything without a computer still works fine. Boy's older neighbor is a doom's day survivalist/ex-military guy and so they go stock up on supplies while everyone is still panicking.

Eventually the neighborhood/part of town where he lives becomes a community and they band together against the people that have gone nuts outside. They build walls and share resources and stuff. They bring in a girl's family because they are farmers and want to prepare for long term survival.

The main character's dad was out of town because he's a pilot and so no one has any idea if he is still alive. Spoilers: he is it's just taking him forever to walk home. Also because the dad is a pilot he's been teaching the main character how to fly and they have a not-really-airplane that they've built themselves stashed in the garage. It has no computers in it so it flies just fine.

The book ends with people out of town trying to attack their community so they blow up the bridge. Also there is a ww1 style airplane that the MC has ww1 style dogfights with because the gang that was attacking them from outside has a lot of recourses as well. Very red baron -esque. At the very end the electricity flickers on and everyone has hope for the future.

I read the book 3-5 years ago and it's part of a trilogy. The title is a bunch of numbers (like 2 2 2 or something) with the tag of like "a person can last ___ weeks without food, ___ days without water, and blank ___minutes without oxygen" even though I'm pretty sure none of the numbers are right.

Emily, what's the genre - e.g. YA dystopian, post-apocalyptic, science fiction? How old are the main characters?

What's the location?

I think it's northern United states? I think the dad had gone to Chicago, so around that area. And I'm not sure of the genre which is why I just put YA. It's like post-apocalyptic except not an apocalypses. And the main character is a teen
