My memories of this book are so confusing that I sometimes wonder if I dreamt about it but I am still hopeful!
I read this likely around 10 years ago (2010), it could have also been much earlier, so let's say 2004-2012?
I remember it starting with a plane crash in a jungle or something and a boy surviving and sleeping somewhere that somehow was a border to another world, so he wakes up there. I remember very little about this other world, but I don't think there were any humans at all and there might have been something like evil demons and dwarves related to baking or milk? And there was something about a gryphon. He might have been the ruler or something. At the end the boy also manages to get back to his own world.
I feel like there was a gryphon on the cover of the book.
