Right?! I thought it was too good not to share! I'd love more from his perspective.

Laura ☾ | 873 comments Me too to be honest

On a completely different topic, you loved Mexican Gothic right? Help I'm struggling with it and I don't know why. I'm 27% in, I want to stab most/all the characters and while the atmosphere is neat its slow. Tell me why I should continue? I want to love this I feel like I should!

message 105: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments I did really enjoy it but it may have been my mood at the time. I remember not really liking the first third or so but then it picks up a bit so I’d say keep going for a bit and see

Thanks! I've just been really struggling with it

That looks like a really good reading month! What were some of the stand outs? How are you liking Warped?

Elena Granger | 1788 comments So many interesting books this month! Congratulations on this great amount :)

message 111: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments @Jo It was a very good reading month! hahah

@Brittany I like Warped but not as much as Spellbound or Demonized!

Standouts were definitely Rhythm of War and Warbreaker!

@Elena thank you!

Laura ☾ | 873 comments So I finished Empire of the Vampire and I absolutely loved it! Although I'm not okay

message 113: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6447 comments Mod
That sounds good! A different take on vampire legends then?

message 114: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments Definitely!

message 115: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Laura! Thoughts on Red Rising? I hated it but sooo many people love it so I keep wondering if I just need to try again >.<

message 116: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments Just finished it! It was honestly just okay, I don’t really get the hype

I’ll probably continue the series to see if it gets any better

message 117: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I def did not get the hype around it. I had a lot of issues that have stopped me from considering continuing but sometimes I see the high ratings and wonder if it was just me lol. You'll have to let me know if book 2 is better.

message 118: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments I shall!

How have you enjoyed the rest of the Annette Marie books? I really want to read Red Winter at some point.

Laura ☾ | 873 comments Brittany wrote: "How have you enjoyed the rest of the Annette Marie books? I really want to read Red Winter at some point."

I liked them all! The Steel & Stone series was my least favourite but it was also her first series so can be forgiven - they were definitely all entertaining though!

message 122: by Jo (new)

Jo Elliott | 1838 comments OMG how was The Bronzed Beasts Laura? I'm still waiting for my pre-order to arrive because of the shipping delays!

message 123: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments I enjoyed it although I would say silvered serpents was my favourite of the series! Without spoilers I can say that the ending was not what I expected at all but I did like it!

message 124: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1788 comments Wow! That's a lot! What was your favourite read?

message 125: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments Empire of the vampire for sure! Might be my favourite of the year so far !

Wow that's interesting because TSS has been my least favourite thus far. I'm intrigued to see how this one goes for me, if it ever gets here, Forbidden Planet are still awaiting stock!

message 138: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments Thank you!

Honestly I wasn’t as in love with it as a lot of other people - it wasn’t bad but it didn’t blow me away either unfortunately !

message 139: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I stalked some of your reviews and now I'm even more anxious to get around to Vespertine!

Nice job Laura! How was the Cursed Carnival? I love Rick Riordan and am very intrigued by this anthology.

message 142: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments It was cute! But only one story is written by him the others are other Rick Riordan presents authors!

I was curious about the Cursed Carnival too! Also how was A Spindle Splintered? I saw your review for Little Thieves and as interesting as it sounds I dont think I will bother.
Looks like overall you had a pretty good book month though! Favourite?

message 145: by Laura ☾ (new)

Laura ☾ | 873 comments A Spindle Splintered was definitely interesting (although quite short)!

Yes, pretty productive! I'd say my favourite this month was Vespertine!
