yeah varian is a nice character i just think the relationship with amren is a bit unnecessary. but anyway, amazing that you finished! i think nyx is really cute, the name is a bit...well you know calling the prince of the night court nyx... but yeah.

also maybe i'm too critical on that one but rhys seemed hypocritical when he immediately forgave nesta everything when she saved feyre. i understand his immense relief but that was a quick turn of mind.

i mean rhys behaviour was questionable but i agree, i don't think he or feyre acted out of character. it's just a different pov now and i think many readers are therefore a bit confused

i personally don't think he had actually hated nesta, at least not as much as tamlin, but more that he resented her, and especially after that incident where he looked into her mind while she was panicking or something? when he pulled her out? i don't think he hated her, and i think he was already on the path to forgiving her

i also don't think that that kneeling hugging scene at the end meant that he was forgiving her, but more that he was really, really grateful? maybe it's just me though ;P

(view spoiler)[ i agree that the whole ic could have treated nesta way better. i think with rhys it's that he just never cared for nesta before and he was angry at her for being bitchy to feyre. he only sees things from feyre's pov and doesn't think of anyone else. after seeing nesta's mind and now that she helped feyre, he likes her (more). it's not morally justified or right in my opinion but i do think it fits rhys' character somehow, in terms of protecting those he loves and hating everyone else.

Nesta wasn't just spending money on inane stuff, she was using it as a crutch (don't know if that's the right word), trying to ignore the world around her while wallowing in 'worldly pleasures', trying to get over her trauma. Or not, because she was pretty adamant on punishing herself, which should have been the first red flag, honestly.

I don't think Feysand did anything wrong; while they could have been more sensitive and understanding, I don't think Nesta wpuld have given them a chance to help her. She didn't want to give anyone a chance to help her, because, I paraphrase, she didn't want to ruin anything else that came close to her.

I persoanlly have never known anyone with this kind of trauma, but speaking from my sbling experience, you can allow your sibling to destroy their future for only so long, before you decide what's best for them and help them. If my sibling keeps wasting his time before a potentially important exam, I will take matters into my own hands, and I will not be ashamed. I think Feyre was operating under a similar belief, and I honestly can't fault her for that.

Then, about what you say regarding the showering her with gifts later, this is Rhys we're talking about. Do you remember the astronomical salary he pays to every member of the inner circle? the night court? salaries which they don't even need? nesta has been part of the inner circle for some time now, wasn't she the human fae ambassador or somehting?

I would honestly be surprised if Rhys wouldn't shower her with money, and, as you say, after she literally delivers her baby, he would be even more generous about it. I would bet you anything that Nesta was never completely cut off, more that she was cut off to stop enabling her. When somone has an addiction, (not equating addictions to coping mechanisms, but in this case they are somewhat similar), you are supposed to wean them off. While they didn't do that and just completely cut her off, I don't think the weaning off would have worked for someone as headstrong and stubborn as Nesta.

About your last comment, I have two rather conflicting thoughts. The first is that you're absolutely correct that they should have dealt with this better. The second is that I'm reasonably sure that they do know how to deal with a traumatised person, given that they dealt with Feyre pretty well in ACOMAF, and they host numerous priestesses in the library, most of whom have had very traumatic incidents in their pasts. Also, Nesta is somewhat unlike the normal traumatised person, (not saying there is such a thing as a normal traumatised person, but I hope you get what I mean), given that she has a very stubborn and callous nature (not faulting her for her nature, just saying she has one).

I honestly believed that if they didn't intervene and let her do what she was doing, which was drinking and, forgive my language (though you people have heard worse if you've read acosf XD), f*cking herself into a grave, she would have gone on to do literally that. (hide spoiler)]

i think it's not the healthiest relationship. tbh i didn't realise that when reading the first four books, but acosf and some posts on insta finally opened my eyes. i still like the books a lot but the relationships and some actions (looking at you, rhys) there should be acknowledged as harmful.
