Princey and Fiona
Benjamin stood up and turned around. He began looking around for the book he needed. Technically speaking, he didn't need it, but he would be more comfortable. He heard a rustling in the other aisle. He jumped. "Wh-What was that?"
Benjamin closed his eyes, clenching his fists. "Leave me alone, Jesse. And don't call me that I'm not..." he shook his head to clear it. He knew Jesse was making fun of him but... those eyes... they were... so... pretty... and his smile... No, no! He couldn't think that... He pushed his feelings down, and his glasses up. Benjamin cleared his throat. "I'm not gay."
Benjamin cursed internally. Was it that obvious? He was supposed to be a genius. He was supposed to know how to do this stuff "That's because..., because you make fun of me and..." he began mumbling "anxiety.... and... stuff..." he said, barely above a whisper.
Benjamin's jaw dropped "M-me change? I'm just trying to... to you know... get good grades...?" God, he was falling apart. It was so hard to think clearly around this big, stupid, buff, tall.... hot... 'No, stop it' Benjamin chided himself. He composed himself. "At least I'm not a high school has-been waiting to happen. A future gas station attendant."
"You know you have to actually be smart to get into a good college to even be considered for the NFL?" Benjamin said, confidence coming from somewhere he didn't even know existed.
Benjamin laughed "What? Did you come to the library to study? Because last time I checked you were scheduled for a training day right now, and I don't think you would be training in the-" Benjamin stopped short. It would seem weird, him studying Jesse's schedule. "Uh... just... you're not doing well in your classes I would.... assume..."
Benjamin flinched, his confidence draining. "I just... wanted to know... when to uh... how to avoid you... he said, closing in on himself "I'm sorry... please don't hurt me. It would hurt if you uh... hit me with your big hands and your big... strong... biceps... and... he trailed off
Benjamin looked up at him confused "I-..." he didn't know what to say. "You uh... well you... you..."
"You're standing in front of the book I need...." he said, looking down, pushing his glasses up. He shuffled a little bit nervously
"No... Maybe I just... enjoy... uh..." He looked behind Jesse "Uh... Twi... Twilight...?"
Benjamin sighed. "Yes...?"
Benjamin flinched. Cursing remind Benjamin of the constant yelling in his house. Before his parents were seperated. And after... "P-..Please don't curse... I don't... It makes me..." He began hyperventilating. Pushing past Jesse. He headed to the bathroom. 'Don't let him know he's getting to you....'
Benjamin stopped in front of the mirror and leaned over the sink. He didn't bother wiping his tears and just let them roll off into the sink. What was wrong with him? Why couldn't he just stand up for himself? It's not like the insults were hurting him... he'd heard them all before. But not from Jesse... the boy who'd smiled at him in fifth grade... the one who'd been his first real friend in second... his best friend... until he decided to join the football team...
(Sorry... i hope that background is ok?)
(Sorry... i hope that background is ok?)
(yay!)
Benjamin wiped his eyes, pulling his hood up to shadow his face, so it wasn't noticable he was crying. He hoped Jesse wasn't still in the library.
Benjamin wiped his eyes, pulling his hood up to shadow his face, so it wasn't noticable he was crying. He hoped Jesse wasn't still in the library.
He walked in and his face fell even more. "oh no..."
Benjamin stopped short and listened to Jesse muttering to himself, watching 'What's going on...?'
Benjamin was confused. Normally Benajmin was being called a stupid nerd.... so who was Jesse talking to?
Benjamin walked into view slowly. "Jess...?" he said, using his old nickname for his old best friend without realizing it. "What's up?"
Benjamin sighed "Right.. sorry i just... you looked upset... I was concerned... sorry." It wasn't that he had forgotten they weren't best friends... it's just that deep down he still cared about Jesse... and he didn't want him upset.
Benjamin smiled, though he didn't know why "Don't flatter yourself, Big Man." Benjamin didn't know why but he felt like a little kid... sitting alone at lunch... in second grade... again
"Uh right... sorry" Benjamin said, though he could tell something was changing
Benjamin nodded. "Well... you should probably get to... training..." He said, smiling a little
Benjamin stiffled a laugh "You'd rather stay and watch me write a four page mid term paper for AP Liturature 2?"
He laughed "Gonna go hang out with your jock friends?"
Benjamin nodded, feeling a little sad, though he didn't know why. Jesse had always antagonized him "Sounds fun."
(i might have to go soon)
Benjamin nodded "Right so.... uh I'll see you later?"
Benjamin nodded "Right so.... uh I'll see you later?"
Benjamin smirked a little "Ok... well okay." he didn't know what was happening but it was as if the past five years didn't exist.
He nodded "Uhm... yeah... bye..."
Benjamin watched after he left, smiling to himself. "I love you..." He whispered after Jesse quietly.
(can u timeskip to the next day around lunch time?)

Benjamin was sitting at a table by himself, reading Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis. He couldn't focus, though, because he kept glancing over his book at Jesse. He never realized how miserable Jesse looked with the rest of the team.
Benjamin tried to smile at Jesse, but he turned away too soon. He shook his head and kept reading.
Benjamin set down his book and looked down. He missed his best friend. The memories were coming back now...
Benjamin smiled at Jesse, hoping he would smile back. He included a little wave.
Ben grinned down at his plate. Jesse noticed him, and it wasn't to call him 'Gayme'
(ts to the end of lunch? jesse hangs back to talk to ben?)
At the end of the lunch period, Benjamin had a free period, and stayed behind to finish the chapter.
Benjamin saw Jesse looking at him. He didn't know if he would make fun of him or if something like the day before would happen again... He found himself simply staring at Jesse
Benjamin got scared. Maybe he was misreading what was happening and he was about to get bullied again.
(awww that was so sweet!)
Benjamin looked around suspiciously "I'm... good, I guess? Why...?"
Benjamin looked around suspiciously "I'm... good, I guess? Why...?"
He nodded... "Okay... well I'm ok... what about you?"
He nodded "I saw you were eating your favorite meal today."
He blushed "At lunch... I remember that used to your favorite meal... that you ate today. At lunch."
He nodded. "Yeah... Sorry it's weird that I noticed."
He smiled "So... you have a free period, right?"
"Wanna um... hang out?" He said, looking down shyly, his face turning red.
Benjamin smiled and looked up. "You're not allowed to call me any names though..."
(bruh that sounds like me)
He smiled "So... where do you wanna hang?"
He smiled "So... where do you wanna hang?"
Benjamin was sitting in the library, pouring over his studies. He had rewritten his final essay three times. With midterms coming up, he couldn't let this be anything less that perfect. His papers were all he had, afterall. Once he got into Oxford he would show all those jerks who was better. He would be a professor and they would be nothing. Managers of the Wendy's, probably. He laughed a little to himself.
