SOLVED. Possibly written in late 1970's, target audience pre-teens, maybe set in England?, a girl/boy? goes back in time during the burning of his/her house? Lives in 1800's and tries to get back to her/his own time, something about a phoenix and fire. [s]

I read a book when I was 11 or 12, I think, late 1970's & can't remember the title. A girl or boy experiences a fire and somehow goes back in time to the 1800's, possibly London, England? Tries to get back to her/his own time. Theme of time being on a wheel on which you can go back and forth to past and possibly future, maybe a phoenix and/or fire near the end of the book... any ideas?
