So what are the purposes of our reading challenges? First is to draw members out of their comfort zones and read books that they would otherwise not have heard of or would not have read on their own. Second is to have more bookish conversations, which we're pretty sure we can't get enough of. Third is to have fun!
This year, we are shaking things up a bit. We have not one, but two reading challenges. Are you ready?
Reading Challenge 1: I Dare You to Read 2015
F2F37 attendees drew their challenge books from a box filled with strips of paper where the attendees' favorite and least liked books were written. TFG Passports were stamped to officially mark the attendees participation in I Dare You to Read.

For those who were not able to attend F2F37, you still have the chance to participate in the reading challenges. All you need to do is consult The Oracle for your challenge book. The Oracle requires that you post in this thread three dates. These could be important or random dates (e.g. birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc.).
Once your plea to be challenged is heard, The Oracle will consult The Book of Dares. The Oracle will prophesize two challenge books based on the dates you've provided (view spoiler)[the third date is an alternate, in case one of the dates corresponds with a past or future F2F book (hide spoiler)]. It's now up to you to choose your destiny (i.e. choose which of the two you want to be your challenge book).
TFG Passports will be stamped to officially mark your participation in The Book of Dares, which means you are encouraged to join future F2Fs so that you can get the shiny sparkly stamp. But if you can't, that's okay. The Oracle will consider. And if you don't have a TFG Passport, you can either buy one from me (view spoiler)[for Php 100 (hide spoiler)] or just forego the shiny sparkly stamp.
Here is the list of challenge books for The Book of Dares (as of Aug 24):
Aaron: A Child's Christmas in Wales

And there's more! If you want more from The Book of Dares and more stamps and shinier TFG passports, just ask The Oracle for another challenge book. The Oracle will respond once it is determined that you have already finished your current challenge book from The Book of Dares.
So, who's The Oracle? (view spoiler)[From January to June, it's me, Angus. From July to December, it's Monique. (hide spoiler)]
And really, what's The Book of Dares? (view spoiler)[It's The Bibliophile's Devotional: 365 Days of Literary Classics. Now you know why dates are required. (hide spoiler)]
This thread is where we all check in regarding our challenge books. If you can't find a copy of your challenge books, post away! Some members can alert you of book sightings or even lend their copies to you. (view spoiler)[Remember, be a responsible borrower. Read with care and return as soon as you're finished with the book. (hide spoiler)] You can also share your feels about your challenge books. Just don't forget that our group still and will always operate on mutual respect. (view spoiler)[And don't forget to use spoiler tags, if necessary. (hide spoiler)]
Conquer your challenges. Happy reading! :)
