I'm pretty sure its a trilogy. I started it roughly around 2015 and I remember reading the last one sometime in 2018. I'm not sure if it was new when I started it though. There were heavy themes surrounding capitalism, as I remember the MC needing a corporate sponsor to actually pilot a ship, and a lot of them were portrayed as extremely corrupt. I remember a whole ordeal about codenames, and I know for a fact he wanted his to be Cyanide by the end of the second book (the 3rd's title apparently has nothing to do with that though, otherwise I would have found it by now). I know the MC gets hacked in the second book, and the third leaves him with heavy PTSD.
