Tawallah | 135 comments Hi Becky, I've finished Sliver of Truth and One of Our Thursdays Is Missing.

Currently reading Deja Vu for the mini-challenge- the white cover. Can also work as card 1- first in series; card 6/7 - character mane starts with S.

Will soon finish The Good Knight (Gareth & Gwen Medieval Mysteries, #1) by Sarah Woodbury tonight or tomorrow. Works for:
card 1 - first in series
card 6/7/SKIP- author name starts with S
card 8- character name starts with E

Tawallah | 135 comments The Good Knight (Gareth & Gwen Medieval Mysteries, #1) by Sarah Woodbury will work in the mini challenge as book set in UK- mainly Wales and Ireland. Will let you know when I'm finished.

Laura Hand 11, card 7 Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

(title starts with S)
I will be able to finish both Fallen and Shiver ( possibly , maybe another, I 'll see how I get through these two first)

message 407: by Alexa (new)

Alexa Carver (alexacarver) I found a book for that 2nd card 5 if no one else has! Its The Unknown Bridesmaid, the author's last name starts with an F. I'm also over halfway done with The Assassin's Blade but I haven't looked to see where it fits yet. I'll post that when I finish it. I'm guessing those will be my last 2 for February.

Tawallah | 135 comments Becky, I was checking the spreadsheet and the reason for hand 11 card 2, Sliver of Truth, should be second in a series and not title starts with S.

And I've finished The Good Knight (Gareth & Gwen Medieval Mysteries, #1) by Sarah Woodbury - works for hand 12 card 7- author name starts with S.

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Updated the spreadsheet. Thanks for letting me know!

Teddie (teddieg) | 1015 comments I'm almost done with Graceling, and will get The Martian read before March 1 - not sure I will get Night Watch done - can we move Sliver of Truth (takes place in NYC) or some other hand eleven book into the 9 card for hand 10 or does someone else have a 9 they can read this week? I just don't want to not finish the hand.

message 412: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1015 comments Done with Graceling - really enjoyed it! Starting The Martian.

It's boring so I'm switching to The Perks of Being a Wallflower for the standalone in hand ten. Sorry for the confusion!

definitely not her best! I don't blame you for switching!

Wasn't it awesome?

message 416: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1015 comments Graceling was very fun - thanks for the suggestion! Looks like the next book has a totally different cast of characters - added it to my TBR list.

June's Deja Vu book got missed, it will work in the wild card spot, hand 11 ( see above for reasons it will fit)

I think I can squeeze a short one in that will work for your nine!

Yes I 've started Fire, the next one, but I don't like it as much. I may skip it and read the next one. Hopefully Po will be back in the third one! You are welcome! Glad you liked it.

Laura Finished Fallen!! Also works for the free space in bingo
a really good YA, fantasy book. I 'm looking forward to the next one in this series.

Starting Undead and Unwed (Undead, #1) by MaryJanice Davidson works for Teddie's card 9 that she doesn't think she will finish( character's name is Nick)

message 421: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments I actually liked Landline a lot more than I liked Fangirl or E&P. I just don't like how she writes teenagers for some reason. Loved her adult books.

I believe I have the spreadsheet updated. If someone can help me with the Bingo card that would be great. I'm sure there are some that I'm missing

message 422: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1015 comments Thanks for covering my 9 Laura!

For Bingo: you can fill in dates for Graceling (2-24) and The Scribe (2-18) and Station Eleven (2-15) Would you swap in The Martian and swap out Night Watch for the Fiction novel? Thanks!

message 423: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Updated! Remember we do have the free space open still

Laura Beth (Ducky) wrote: "Updated! Remember we do have the free space open still"

For bingo:
check with Kirsten, her copy of The Perks of Being a Wallflower may be a green cover.

you can use my Undead and Unwed for the free space, your book Perfect will fit for 3rd in series and I 'll wait to hear from Karen and see if my book will fit for black.

message 425: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Do we have a book that is set in the UK?

message 426: by Laura (new)

Laura Beth (Ducky) wrote: "Do we have a book that is set in the UK?"

yes, I think so, someone posted earlier, which means horizontal 2 is also complete

message 427: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Oh never mind, just remembered that June said The Good Knight fits there. the only spot we need now is black cover and then as long as we all finish our books then we are finished with it!

Then we can all decide where to get double points!

If you look at Betty Boops spreadsheet, then you can see how they claimed points.

I m still waiting on Karen's verdict for the black covered book:)

no problem, Fallen was such an easy read and so is Shiver and I picked a really short book to fill in for yours! I should finish Shiver tomorrow evening and the other Thursday or Friday night!

message 430: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments I just don't know if we have to let the mods know when we finish a line because I haven't seen anyone else do it. I'll just keep updating them and I guess they can do with it what they need to!

message 431: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Laura, have you been thinking about any books that you may want to read next month? I already have a tentative list of series books that I will try to knock out!

message 432: by Laura (new)

Laura Beth (Ducky) wrote: "I just don't know if we have to let the mods know when we finish a line because I haven't seen anyone else do it. I'll just keep updating them and I guess they can do with it what they need to!"

I'm pretty sure that individual teams claim their own points and you don't have to let them know as its on your spreadsheet

message 433: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Where do you think we should use the double points? I think using them on Wild and Wild Draw 4 would be good because then we'd get 60 points for it instead of just 30

message 434: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Laura, Fallen does count as black! Yay! I updated the spreadsheet. We now have all the spots at least planned but most of them are read. That was a fun challenge. I hope there are more mini challenges like that.

message 435: by Laura (new)

Laura yes, I was going to suggest that! We have 2 in the first hand. Then when we complete the other bingo lines look for more wild or wild 4 cards and use them to double the points.

My book Fallen that I finished tonight works for the black cover, Karen just gave the ok!

message 436: by Laura (new)

Laura Beth (Ducky) wrote: "Laura, have you been thinking about any books that you may want to read next month? I already have a tentative list of series books that I will try to knock out!"

oh yes! I' m sure Karen will have the new hands out soon! I think the reverse cards will be easy.

I think we worked really well as a team and though we may not finish all our hands we may be able to next time!

message 437: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Haha I caught it right after she commented back so I already updated it. Do we want to keep one of the double points for a future month or do we want to use them all in February?

message 438: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments I really was only thinking we've get five or six hands done. I didn't know it would go this quickly! I had so much fun with the first month and I learned a lot about being a captain of a team and I definitely got some awesome book recs and read books that I may not have read otherwise. I wish this challenge was longer honestly. Maybe they'll make it like Tower Teams where they do two rounds a year or something? I'd definitely do that.

Karen if you are reading this, set this up :D

Laura Beth (Ducky) wrote: "Haha I caught it right after she commented back so I already updated it. Do we want to keep one of the double points for a future month or do we want to use them all in February?"

Good question... we will finish the bingo squares so I think we should use all of our wilds and wild 4's ( 6 of them if I counted right) for this month.

message 440: by Laura (new)

Laura I think she will definitely get some good feedback from it! I would participate again, and we aren't even finished yet!

message 441: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Even if we don't win, I've made friends from this challenge and have found some new great books!

Yeah that's a good idea. We can do it that way!

I wonder what our cards for March will look like!

message 442: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kkhoppers) | 132 comments Since I'm almost done with PoBaW, I decided to go on and find another book. So I'm reading The Time Traveler's Wife for hand ten and card nine because the author's last name starts with an N.

It was amazing! Though there are some scenes that even I was uncomfortable with. There was a lot of lot about rape, molestation, and suicide.

I read some very weird stuff and its always disturbing and difficult to read about those subjects. I 'm going to see if my library has it and give the book a try as I have wanted to read it for some time.I'll let you know what I think if I 'm able to get it

message 450: by Laura (new)

Laura Just put it out hold:) Guess we have another reverse ready to go Beth, lol!
