We can start hand two before hand one is finished but hand one is currently all filled up so I'm just trying to fill in hand two so we know who is reading what.

We COULD theoretically skip around and read whichever hand we wanted, but it's easier if we try to go in order and then we'd get more points because we'd be filling up more hands.

I will put you down for 2 and 4. Can you give me the reasons for them?

message 52: by Alexa (new)

Alexa Carver (alexacarver) To All the Boys I've loved Before starts with a T so it works for 2, Fairest (by Marissa Meyer, from the Lunar Chronicles) starts with an F so it works for 4.

Thank you for your help! I just wanted to make sure I could finish them the first week of February so I knew what to sign up for.

message 53: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments No problem! Basically, if we read all of hand one, some of hand two, but all of hand four: we would only get counted for hand one and the things that we did for hand two. So we should try to keep it in order as much as possible. I will put those in the spreadsheet!

You can start them any time you like as long as you finish them on or after Feb 1st.

I'm so excited!

Teddie (teddieg) | 1015 comments Hi All! Sorry for joining the board late - weekend flu. I'll check out the spreadsheet. Let me know too if there are any cards/books I should definitely do. Thanks, Teddie

message 55: by Teddie (last edited Jan 26, 2015 09:12AM) (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1015 comments Ok, here is Teddie's uno challenge shelf. I could do the number 1 for hand 2 with The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat - one of the main characters is Odette. Or a 0(zero) with Ernest Cline's Ready Player One (as a standalone.) Just let me know what you need me to read and I can come up with a book!

message 56: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kkhoppers) | 132 comments Just finished Everlost! Also, I've just added it to my bookshelf, but I'm not sure how to add the shelf to the comments. Help?

message 57: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kkhoppers) | 132 comments I can do 5 in hand two. The Revenge of Seven because it is the fifth book in the I Am Number Four series. Plus, I've already read it as of 10/1/15.

message 58: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Kirsten books only count if they are finished on or after Feb 1st so we can't use that book

message 59: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Also, just copy and past the link into here. or let me know the name of your shelf and I can find it

message 60: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Hi Teddie! I will let you know later tonight what we need done but those sounds like good choices!

message 61: by Laura (new)

Laura Hi Teddie and Alexa!

Laura Kirsten wrote: "Just finished Everlost! Also, I've just added it to my bookshelf, but I'm not sure how to add the shelf to the comments. Help?"

ahhh that's too bad. Now we can't count it for the Uno challenge. The challenge doesn't officially start until February 1st.

message 63: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Now all we need for the first set is 8 and Wild Draw 4.

If anyone that has a book that matches one of these, let me know:

8 (Eight)
Read a book that either:
- has an 8 or Eight in the title
- has a title starting with E
- has an author first name or surname starts with E
- has a character with a first name, surname or nickname starting with E
- is set in a place name starting with E ; or
- is book 8 in a series

message 64: by Teddie (new)

Teddie (teddieg) | 1015 comments I can read Ernest Cline's Ready Player One for the 8.

message 65: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Awesome! I will put it in the spreadsheet as soon as I get home from work.

I'll give you the easiest one! You can take Wild Draw 4 for hand 1. Just read whatever book you want and it'll count! Let me know when you decide the book so I can update it

message 70: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments I asked in the mods group and that they said its okay. what we are using it for is draw 2 (card 5 and wild card) and then someone else is using it for reverse. I can have her look at it but from what they told me in the mods folder, its okay

My name is June and I live in Barbados. I am 37 years old and work in healthcare. My fav genres are YA,HF, classics and christian fiction.

I'll add a shelf- UNO-SPEEDRACER to my bookshelf and make it sticky. Becky, can you let me know where I can fit in? I see for hand one there is wild draw four- I can read either Prince Caspian or The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society?

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Welcome, June! You can read either of those. Wild Draw 4 is just any book you want to read and it'll count! I can slot you into there and then Apoorv can maybe look for a book for hand two?

I will add your shelf to the list. Thanks for introducing yourself!

wow, Beth!! Anything good coming in? I use my library and only buy when I can't get a particular book

message 98: by Beth (last edited Jan 31, 2015 05:58PM) (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments I got tons of good ones! 28 of them were from the used book sale at the library.

message 99: by Laura (new)

Laura lucky you! Happy reading, I see some good titles!

message 100: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 756 comments Sorry the quality isn't the greatest. That room doesn't have the best lighting. But you get the point! The stack went up to my hip.

The only reason I stopped looking was because I couldn't hold the book anymore. I can admit I have somewhat of a problem. Not a big enough one to stop, just a small one hahah
