I'm re-reading Sherwood Anderson's WINESBURG, OHIO for this prompt, which I last read about a decade ago in grad school.
For anyone thinking about a graphic novel, I read Derf Backderf's Kent State: Four Dead in Ohio for this prompt.
Yeah I definitely am using In Cold Blood. Read it before realizing it could be used for this challenge, haha. But yes, Canadian Midwest counts too, folks! :D
I read Hannah Coulter by Wendell Berry for this prompt, and really enjoyed it! Great writing, and I appreciated the slow, meandering plot. Sometimes it's nice to read something that doesn't have a lot of action or villainy.
Just reading Thief River Falls by Brian Freeman and realized it fits this prompt. If you like a good thriller, try this one set in Minnesota.
Everything I Never Told You and Little Fires Everywhere are both set in Ohio and are fantastic reads.
