Here are the Google Books previews of Rainbowheart and Ellie's suggestions:
The Children of Green Knowe by Lucy M. Boston:

I think it is likely The Children og Green Knowe, since Half Magic was not translated to Danish.
Also the description and the feeling from browsing Kris' Google Books links looks just right.
Best wishes for the season!
Anders

The series relate to a group of children - perhaps 4, 2 times 2 cousins, possibly 2 girls and 2 boys, who regular meet at a mansion, I believe during school holidays.
The mansion is enchanted; I believe garden bushes and buildings are alive. I don't recall the series having a big drama, and I have a feeling that no adults were playing a role.
The feeling I recall from the books is similar to Enid Blyton's Famous five, but I recall the plots as less advanced.
