This is always an exciting category in our annual challenge. Who doesn’t like to explore newly released books?

Trigger Warning: Violence and Sexual Assault

Just finished reading: "Lore" by Alexandra Bracken (★★★★☆), it stars Melora "Lore" Perseous, last of the mortal Perseides, getting revenge for her family's murder seven years ago. The Agon – a moment every seven years when gods could be killed, begins again and Lore must protect herself from getting killed with the help of her friends and avenge her family's death.

Bracken has created a remarkable narrative with ambitious worldbuilding and breakneck pacing, which blends Greek mythology and modern-day Manhattan wonderfully.

Emily | 57 comments I could put so many books for this prompt, but officially I used Before She Disappeared by Lisa Gardner for this prompt and Finlay Donovan Is Killing It by Elle Cosimano for prompt 52 (redoing this prompt). Both of them were fast paced mystery books. Finlay Donovan is a little bit lighter in tone. I rated both of them 3 stars.
