Since Kew Gardens is a real place, sure!"

Thanks, Lauren.

Yes, I would consider this disabled.

Mally Becker | 5 comments That's one of my favorite historical series! Glad you're liking it, too.

Emma | 205 comments Has anyone read Arthur & George Arthur & George by Julian Barnes ? I was wondering if this would count as an historical mystery as he works to exonerate George? I want to use it for the actual historical figure prompt.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 697 comments 36. A book written by an author with your initials

For this prompt, can we reverse our initials? I haven't been able to find any historical mystery authors (and hardly any authors, period) with my initials, VG. I guess "V" names just aren't very popular. I'm not sure I'll have any luck reversing them either, tbh.

So far I've tried the following links:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_o...
https://www.fantasticfiction.com/ - (scroll to bottom of page to search by author)

Absolutley! The order of initials doesn't matter.

If you cannot find an author, then use only one initial.

Emma | 205 comments Is Death on the Nile a historical mystery? It was contemporary when written but does that exclude it from being historical now?

For the purposes of this group, yes, it is an historical mystery.
See rule # 2
2) Definition of historical mystery for this challenge: Any book whose central plot involves a crime of any type (murder, robbery, etc.) and takes place at any point that is at least 50 years in the past. This includes works set in a time period that is historical from the author’s perspective (for example, The Cadfael Chronicles by Ellis Peters) as well as books written in the past from our perspective and set during the author’s lifetime (for example, Hercule Poirot by Agatha Christie).

Yes, blood is a body part.

Wanda (wanda71) In The Cottingley Secret(HF) two girls take photos of themselves with fairy cutouts and then use them to claim the existence of fairies. This is a true story taking place in England in the early part of the 20th century (1917). It wasn't until 1983 that the truth was revealed. Would this storyline be acceptable?

Unfortunately, no. There is no crime or investigation. As such, it is not a historical mystery as defined for the challenge and the group.

Okay. I thought it would be considered fraud. It was investigated at the time but no comclusive results because no tampering could be found with the photographic plate.

Criminal fraud requires a financial motive, which does not seem to be the case here.

I hope you manage to find another book that fits the challenge.
