Mora Teachers in 5&6th grades, read 'True... Sort Of' by Hannigan. Easy read, powerful theme. Not for younger kids. But such a fun, engaging, heartbreaking book with a happy ending. After the book, we eat marshmallow peanut butter (as long as no allergies) sandwiches.

Ben Truong | 60 comments Completion Post:

Just finished reading: "The Guest Cat" is written by Takashi Hiraide and translated by Eric Selland (★★★★☆) it is a contemporary book as it captures life's ephemeral nature in a tender narrative about a Tokyo couple’s attachment to a neighbor's cat.

Hiraide's narrative is a short and subtle story, but remarkable in the number of layers packed into the gorgeous and textured, lolling rhythm of its prose. The novel takes a nice meta-fictional turn midway, as the reader slowly begins to understand that the book the husband is writing is the book he's narrating.
