I read this book either this year or last year (2019-2020). It's a dystopian novel about a boy who wakes up in an empty house in a town in Washington. His dad is a professor, I'm not sure what the mom does. He has repressed memories and doesn't remember a lot about what happened. He goes outside and there is nobody there. He eventually finds two other people, a black girl and a white boy with a vaguely European accent (maybe German or Scandinavian?) They are hiding from people in vans trying to kill them. I have a vague idea of some sort of big monster as well, but it may not be part of the story. We learn later about how he had a relationship with another boy and it was a very big deal in that smaller conservative town. I also remember a big room where all of the other people are, in coffins. The book is newer, written after 2000. I don't remember anything about the cover, I read it online. The book is in English, and is set in near distant future.
