I've read The Venetian Mask, by Rosalind Baker, it happens in 1775, in Venice. Do you think I can use it for Georgian theme?

Jan (jan130) | 2703 comments Finished my December book for Georgian era: Tempting Fortune by Jo Beverley. I gave 3 stars. Some parts were enjoyable, but I got a bit impatient with the heroine at times. Also, it felt a bit old-fashioned (written 1995).
Tempting Fortune (Malloren, #2) by Jo Beverley

I'm closing out my 2021 RATA challenge now. I set a target of 12 books, one per month, and managed 9 of them. Not too bad :)

Merry (jewelhound) | 857 comments I just finished These Old Shades / Devil's Cub by Georgette Heyer I had read the first book earlier in the year. I have to say they have been 2 of my favorite rereads.

Thanks for the overview Darbella, I have been wanting to read the Forbidden Rose! I really enjoyed Black Hawk that's also by Bourne. For this month, I'm reading The Making of a Duchess (for Georgian, even though Goodreads categorizes it as Regency it takes place in 1801), and it sounds good!

Christine | 211 comments Darbella wrote: "Christine L.-- I loved the Making of a Duchess. I hope you enjoy it too."

I did! I liked the use of the mistaken identity trope.

Favs: Blackmoore by Julianne Donaldson Destiny's Captive (Destiny, #3) by Beverly Jenkins The Highlander (Victorian Rebels, #3) by Kerrigan Byrne Hunting Prince Dracula (Stalking Jack the Ripper, #2) by Kerri Maniscalco The Making of a Duchess (The Sons of the Revolution, #1) by Shana Galen

Note: Daughter of the Reich had a bittersweet ending, so I don't know how solid of a HR it was, but very thought provoking and I appreciated the romance in it.

Finished 12/13/2021. Thanks for the challenge!

I'm a little bit behind this challenge, I have to update my post but I don't know if I achieve the 24 books... I'm not in the mood for Medieval (I thinkI alreadyread one bookthis year it was medieval but don't remember each one), Viking and Ancient World, do you have some suggestions?

For ancient world, check out Mara, Daughter of the Nile, or Mistress of Rome. I haven't found a Viking romance that I'd recommend to others yet. I ahve heard good things about Moning's Viking books, Beyond the Highland Mist .Don't force yourself to read more then you want to, though.

🐝 Shaz 🐝 | 1242 comments Michelle Styles, Michelle Willingham, Sandra Hill and Harper St George all write Viking books.

Christine | 211 comments For future reference, does mythology count for the ancient world option, especially if it's historical based like Daughter of Sparta? If so, I'd also recommend that.

I've started "Highlander 's Captive" for time travel and medieval. It's nice but has a lot of tiny errors, I think. Has someone read it?

Does it take place in historical times?

If not, I am wondering if making it an ancient world / mythology category to open it up more makes sense?

Yep, it takes place in ancient Greece. Ancient world/mythology would make sense!

For Civil War: Ashes in the Wind, An Extraordinary Union, or Heather Graham's Civil War trilogy.

Here are some Stuart Era suggestions: https://allaboutromance.com/book-type... The Marigold Chain looks good!

Lauren | 1429 comments Your Welcome! I tried to name some quick books, like Ondine by Heather Graham. Seriously, your amazing reading almost all 24 eras!!!

Curious, does the ancient era have to be Roman and Greek? or can it be Celts, Germania tribes? I guess I should be asking Jan

I can't believe I never thought of the Celtcs! I'd be very interested to find some in that time period.

Jayne Castel has written some books set in that period e.g. The Warrior Brothers of Skye: The Complete Series: A Dark Ages Scottish Romance. There are three individual books in the series.

So, I think I will give up on reading the 24 eras ;). I've read 21, maybe I'll get the 22, because I don't like odd numbers ;).

My favourite were:

The Other Miss Bridgerton (Rokesbys, #3) by Julia Quinn , Georgana's Secret by Arlem Hawks , The Sometime Bride by Blair Bancroft , An Extraordinary Union (The Loyal League, #1) by Alyssa Cole , Ever Yours, Annabelle (Rescued from Ruin, #0.5) by Elisa Braden , The Highwayman (Victorian Rebels, #1) by Kerrigan Byrne , The Masquerade (deWarenne Dynasty, #5) by Brenda Joyce , The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer , The Venetian Mask by Rosalind Laker and The Game (deWarenne Dynasty, #3) by Brenda Joyce
Thanks for the challenge, I'm looking forward to the next year challenge!!
