I posted a new link
Here's the community spreadsheet for this year!Just to explain what this is... Anyone can claim a column by putting their name in the first row. Then, as they complete reading books, they fill in the row corresponding the completed prompt with the book completed! There's also some fun statistics based on everyone filling in their books.
Here's last year's sheet if you want to see how it works!
(Let me know if this discussion is only for individual sheets and I will delete this!)

Is this alphabetical by first or last name?

Thank you.

Thank you. I did NaNoWriMo this year and found how to use google docs.
Is this alphabetical by first or last name? Late answer, but whichever name you want to use as the title of the column!
I've created a free tool that lets you easily track your reading, automatically ticks off completed challenges, and does many other useful things like automatically generates a list of favourite authors based on averaging book ratings. It's a template, so from the link you make a duplicate that is your own to use, and only you can see it unless you choose to share it.
I've also added most of the books, with covers and authors, from the Popsugar challenge to make it easy for you to get started. I hope it makes your 2021 reading challenge extra fun and easier to manage.

I just started with that basic list template, and then edited it to make it into my preferred format: basic list style, one column NUMBERED items on the list. I will then put the books I use for each prompt under the list item, indented. If I have a book that might fulfill more than one prompt, or two books that might fulfill one prompt (usually this happens simultaneously), I'll put them both/all under both/all prompts, until I have it narrowed down.
I was more interested in something that looked cute than something that had all the stats and I couldn't really find one so I made one here. I'm definitely not good at graphic design and not super well versed in Google docs, but here's mine, it's blue and has some graphics but not a lot of places for stats if that's your thing hahahttps://docs.google.com/document/d/1y...
Whomp Whomp the community spreadsheet is full-up. No way to add additional columns so others (like me) can participate.EDIT: there are multiple sheets on the bottom in tabs to add additional names!

EDIT. I found it!
Ok, it`s full. Do you know if it`s extendable some how or is there going to be Community Spreadsheet vol2?
Kerry wrote: "Whomp Whomp the community spreadsheet is full-up. No way to add additional columns so others (like me) can participate."Kerry it isn`t full. Down left you see A-F, G-L and M-Z "pages" and there are free columns at the end of the M-Z
ooooh thanks! I didn't notice the "pages"!I added myself to G-L since that's legitimately where my name falls :)
Mahi wrote: "Here's the community spreadsheet for this year!It only goes to AT and they are all filled up. Does that mean we cannot join?
This is an enormous group. Mahi generously provided a group spreadsheet last year, and it seemed to work out okay, so Mahi did it again this year, but it sounds like MORE people are trying to use it this year?
I guess Google has limits for number of columns on each sheet on Google Sheets. I'm not sure if they limit the number of tabs/sheets, so the solution may be to have a lot more sheets in the document (and for all users to pay attention to which sheet their name should be in). I don't know if it can be edited now, after everyone has put their name in, and I don't know who has the ability to edit the spreadsheet to add more sheets.
Can ANY user add more sheets to the document? If not, we all wait patiently for Mahi to come help us out again :-)

hello and thank you so much for the use of the spreadsheet.....i am not sure how to add my name! dont want to mess anything up so i thought i would ask for help
If you want to keep it simple, Mahi has done a fantastic job, and the spreadsheet format is great. If you want your books to sort by what you want to read next, automatically rate authors based on book ratings, and so much more, you might enjoy using the free tool I created.
With greater power comes greater complexity, so I created this video explainer: https://youtu.be/Pn6C7sNIe3A

Thank you so much! Looking forward to checking out your reads. :-)
A spot opened up in the A-F section, so I moved myself there. I was previously in G-L column but I didn't want to mess with deleting columns. Can an admin remove my old column? Thank you! I'm Amy B in column AI (which is actually appropriate since I'm a graphic designer - ha!)
Hi all, sorry I have not been checking Goodreads lately! The spreadsheet isn't full, because there's no limit to columns! I just didn't make so many columns to begin with because I didn't expect so many more people to use it this year! I was periodically adding some columns when I noticed it was full, but didn't realize that people thought they couldn't add new columns on their own. I've just gone and added like 50 columns in each sheet so hopefully no one ever has problems again :)
By the way, if you ever want to me to fix something asap, just make a comment somewhere in the sheet, because then I'll get an email about it!

Thank you for this Timothy! I'm still learning Notion and playing around with it, but this is absolutely fantastic.
