Pallavi (bookfetisher) Well, even though I failed in completing the said challenges, I have learnt few facts about myself.

1) Adding books to TBR is a kind of disease (for me). I found a lot of books that I added in 2013-14 which were not in my interest anymore.

2) I have a liking towards Non-fiction genre

3) Do not commit to series!!! ( i am in the last book of GOT-still reading!!)

4) No more challenges -well I am tempted to but this year I am not going to take up any challenges - Hope I will succeed.

5) Pick it on a whim- works a lot better on me than a pre-decided reading list.

Adios 2021... Hope 2022 will be a greater reading experience for me :)

Makrand | 1353 comments Hello Pallavi,
2022 New Year greetings to you!

I'd certainly agree with you on various things that you've mentioned here.

#1 I have noticed this myself and have already started an exercise of going through my tbr repeatedly and removing books added impulsively or feel no longer interested about.

#3 As much as I agree with you on this for sane reasons, I'd like to disagree too. Currently I'm reading Dunes which is an 8 part series I believe. Although I might not last that long but atleast I'd experience some books in the series. So far blown by the first one

#5 Again, strongly agree. This is what I did this year

Wish you a wonderful 2022 and Happy Reading

dely | 5485 comments Same here, I agree with some of your points, above all point 1, 3 and 5. Well, also point 2, but I've always loved to read non-fiction.

About challenges, I don't like those with a deadline, they make me anxious. But I also have to say that among the best books I've read this year there were a few read because of challenges.

About series, I don't like them either, above all if I have to wait for the last part to be published. So I would start a series only if all the books have already been published.

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 7181 comments And I'm sailing in that same boat-I've fallen and how. by mid year I had started ghosting all my co challengers. The most unexpected turn around this year was the reading of complete series. I've never done this before and I truly detest series. But, voila I had fun reading them - but not in order.

All the best for this year's reading and I hope that you enjoy all of them.
