Where Does This Book Fit? the 2021 edition ...
I listed The Book Thief on my to-be-read list, but forgot to list what prompt I was using it for...Anyone have any ideas?

My copy has a black and white cover (and the author's signature!!), and Zusak's star sign is Cancer, if that helps.
I think it also fits the social justice prompt. It's set in Munich, Germany, if that's somewhere you want to visit.
You could also stretch it to fit the dream job prompt. I think you could class Liesel as a writer during the novel. Or if your dream job is resisting fascism, many of the characters do a good job of that.
Which category would Sunflower Sisters by Martha Hall Kelly fit into, besides a book publishes this year? Thanks in advance.

Well Dune was written in the 60s, but you may be able to find a version published in the 90s if you're ok with stretching the prompt.
Frank Herbert was a Libra. They move to a new place, so maybe fresh-start. It might also be one of your longest books (661 pages), a book everyone seems to have read but you

Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm planning to read Dune this year too, along with my daughter. I have not found a good category for it. It's long, but it was never actually on my TBR since it's a spontaneous "buddy read" with my daughter (and a re-read for me), so I can't use "longest book on your TBR."
I have gone through every week of every year of the 90s and it is, sadly, not on any NYT best-seller list of the 90s. I had hoped it might have gotten a boost from the Kyle McLachlan movie and reappeared on the best-seller lists, but turns out that movie was released in 1984, not in the 90s. (It all blurs together for me now!!)
Since it's my daughter who wants to read it, and I get along well with her, I decided to use "a book your best friend would like." This is a weak choice, but it's a big book and I don't want to invest all that time and not be able to check off a category at the end!!
Alicia is right, "fresh start" might be the best choice.

Dunes are made of sand, so it could stretch to fit the "gem, mineral, or rock in the title" prompt. If being a prophet or leader is your dream job, it could fit that one.
The book could be considered a genre hybrid, as it tackles a lot of subjects and themes in its pages.
It is set on multiple planets, or you could count Arrakeen and the Fremen homes as being different countries on the planet Arrakis.
It's hard to recommend the book for the setting you'd want to visit in 2021, but you may love deserts.
This is a stretch, but there is an epigraph before every chapter, and it has no chapter numbers, so that could be a different format than you usually read.
I highly recommend reading Dune, so put it in whatever prompt you need to to make it work.
Brandon said: “This is a stretch, but there is an epigraph before every chapter, and it has no chapter numbers, so that could be a different format than you usually read.”In which case it would fit a prompt from a past challenge of a book with no chapters/unusual chapter headings (2019). Or past prompt of a book set in space (also 2019).
Erica wrote: "Where can I fit Dune?Does best seller from the 90s work?"
There's always the prompt from a prior year's challenge. The challenge for 2015 had a prompt about became a movie.
I’ve already used the freebie of prompt #40 for ‘pun in the title’. I’ve also read a couple books over 700 pages so I can’t justify the long page count tbr. I might stretch it for online bookshelf. I can always put it in the been on the tbr for a long time.
If you search #dunebook on Instagram there are a few photos of Dune on shelves, so then you can say you've seen it on someone's bookshelf without it being a stretch!
where could I fit Good girls guide to murder and good girl bad blood in the prompts or at least one of the 2 books.
cheyenne wrote: "where could I fit Good girls guide to murder and good girl bad blood in the prompts or at least one of the 2 books."I think the US cover for the second book has broken headphones so something broken on the cover. Otherwise they are tricky to fit, do you feel like everyone has read it but you? Would your best friend like them?
@ellie thank you :) sorry I didn't see your response till now.so dose anyone think the book tye last sister by Kendra Elliot would fit any where ?

I used White Ivy for "three generations."
The Hating Game could be a book everyone else has read but you? or set in a place you'd want to visit? Or maybe you could say it's about do-overs.
I don't know what book The Perfect Marriage is, there's more than one with that title and I don't know any of them, so I can't say.

I'm reading World Without End by Ken Follett. I really don't know where I can fit it in.. Any suggestions?
I love Ken Follett!! It’s been a while but you can definitely do a book set in multiple countries, also fairly certain there are three generations. Additionally, his books are pretty long so maybe longest book on your TBR?
Lu wrote: "I'm reading World Without End by Ken Follett. I really don't know where I can fit it in.. Any suggestions?"How do you feel about the cover? Pretty? Ugly? Are you reading in a different format than you usually do? He was born June 5, which makes him a Gemini—does he share your zodiac sign? It would also fit an older prompt of a book that became a movie or tv series.

Such a good book!!

Thanks! I was able to use it for that prompt too. I loved the book!
Hi :)I've read a bunch of books this year that I'd like to fit in this challenge. Could someone please help?
1. The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga
2. Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple
3. One of Us Is Next by Karen M. McManus
4. This Is Water: Some Thoughts, Delivered on a Significant Occasion, about Living a Compassionate Life by David Foster Wallace
5. Ghachar Ghochar by Vivek Shanbhag
6. Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 by Cho Nam-Joo
7. Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
Thanks in advance!
Hiya - I would like to go back to reading Pratchett's Diskworld this year. Would you be able to tell me if Men at Arms fits for any of this years' prompts? Thank you! :)
Aisling wrote: "Hiya - I would like to go back to reading Pratchett's Diskworld this year. Would you be able to tell me if Men at Arms fits for any of this years' prompts? Thank you! :)"Bestseller from the 90s? One of the covers is in black and white depending on how strict you are with editions.
Sallie wrote: "I really want to read Middlemarch by George Elliot in 2021. Any suggestions where it might fit?"Just seeing this now. I have it under a book published anonymously. Since George Elliot is a pseudonym, nobody knew who she was when she published it.

Eleanor Oriphat is a book about forgetting.
Haven't read the rest, but does the Water one talk about Body Positivity?

What a great idea. I'm definitely moving Middlelmarch to that prompt today! Don't know how I happened to catch your remark but I'm so glad I did

Hello,I'm trying to put Uprooted in my challenge, but I don't know which category it could fit. Anyone has an idea?

Tough one!
It's a reach, but there is a little bit of "forgetting" in the plot, isn't there? with the other girls that the "Dragon" takes in? It's been a while since I read it, but didn't the girls forget what they had done for the years w/ the Dragon? or the Village tries to forget about the girls? And Sarkin had isolated himself from society for so long that he had forgotten things about the "outside" world.
In the same vein, this is a little bit about do-overs or fresh starts, both Agnieszka and Sarkin sort of start their lives over after they meet. (Although this book is not the perfect choice for that category, but it could work.)
At least half of the action takes place outside. The trees are a key element of the plot.
There is a song by a group called The Antlers titled "Uprooted"
Were there three generations? There were parents but were there grandparents or children? I can't remember.

Wow, this have been most helpful. Thank you Nadine. I was thinking about the outside prompt as well, so I will probably use it there.

I think it's a good fit!! The tower is important in the beginning, but really only about 1/6 of the book takes place in the tower. Most of the key action takes place outdoors.

Guys, I need help! Can anyone tell me where any of these could fit?The Marriage-K.L. Slater (I was thinking do over or fresh start, since someone coming out of prison?)
Best of Friends by Lucinda Barry (STUCK on this)
Flock by Kate Stewart (stuck on this!)
Does anyone have any suggestions for either The Galaxy, and the Ground Within or Ariadne? I think I put them both on hold for published this year but I can't use them both there
I just finished listening to a Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harnkess but did not mark what category it was in. I looked at the listopia but can't find it. Can someone point me in the right direction? ThanksEdit: I found it. It was number 5.
I’d like to read Shadow and Bone before I watch the new Netflix series. Anyone have any ideas what prompt this book would fit?
Susan wrote: "I’d like to read Shadow and Bone before I watch the new Netflix series. Anyone have any ideas what prompt this book would fit?"
It is a tough fit. A lot of it is set outdoors. The cover is MOSTLY black and white. It's about a fresh start since Alina is discovered as and trains to become a grisha. Maybe it currently seems like everyone has read it but you. Maybe your best friend would like it. Maybe Bardugo has the same astrological sign as you?

As a heads up Susan, if you don’t want to be book spoiled, you’ll need to read the full trilogy, plus the Six of Crows duology. I liked the show but it is VERY fast paced.
I put A Deadly Education on hold for dark academia but it has come in after I've read a different book for that prompt. Does anyone have any suggestions for another category it'll fit? I also have The Viscount Who Loved Me on hold and no idea where to put it!
