Science Fiction novel series involving an Alien with an interchangeable arm. Each book dealt with a series of adventures / misadventures. Funny & silly. I recall the covers featuring drawings of the main character who the novels were named after. 1992-93

Any chance it's the Bill the Galactic Hero Bill, The Galactic Hero series?

He's not an alien but there are aliens, and there's definitely something about his arm, although I can't remember quite what. The books are very silly. It's a series for adults, though, so if you're looking for a series for kids, this isn't it.
