Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight
Didn't hate but I think are overhyped:
Illuminae
An Ember on the Ashes
Six of Crows

Harry Potter and Percy Jackson oop.
A lot of books I can see why they're hyped, but other books, like John Green's and Nicola Yoon's are...interesting.

And So. Many. Others. Like, I appreciated the work, but it either fell short or it was like an avalanche. Brace for coveeeeeerrrr!

Yeah me too they're not my type

The book whose popularity I CANNOT understand is Heartstopper. It's literally the most generic, tumblr-y BL book I've ever read.

Yeah, now that I think about it, I enjoyed the story, but it did feel generic. That's why when I want to read unique comics, I just go on Webtoon.

Yeah Webtoon is a really good website for BL that isn't just romance (which is what I prefer)
IDK I just thought it was too cute and not much of anything else.

You're still on Shatter Me or are you reading the other books in the series?

Oh, no! Your life will not be graced with Daemon and all his hotnissitiness!

Well, I will be sure to not read the novelas... I may check the Lux series out, we will see :)

@AThe Reader Yasssssssss

these ones are bad, but have been getting what they deserve recently:
divergent, the selection

oh wow- *me sad because I bought the first book and was kinda excited for the series but has a feeling I won't like it and I will agree with you* *but will still read the first book because I don't want to waste my money* great

@tianna i agree with his writing. it took me forever to read that series. i really like the last 2 books. sam and frodo and one of my favorite duos. i recommend the audiobooks to help you get through it!

I'm a fan. It's not the best series I've ever read but the plotting, worldbuilding, and characters are fantastic. Nostalgia also contributes, but I do think it is very well-written.

I suggest you read it and form an opinion for yourself!

I wouldn't say it's the best series I've ever read, but it's pretty good. There's some good plot twists, especially on the latter books.

Tough question.
I mean, it's very nostalgic for a lot of people, and I get that, but my original idea about Harry Potter was that it was way overhyped, and I wasn't going to read it. Ever. Then my friend got obsessed, and I got obsessed. There truly is little to no diversity. (I agree with Kennedy, JKR is a clown.) And plot wise the first two books are similar. The third was decent. My favorite was the seventh. I like the characters, but again, not much diversity. They are executed quite well.

the hunger games were just plain boring, tog was just *blech*, harry potter was annoying, and trb was boring too. and the list goes on.
for hp, i quit on the fourth book because i was suffering. i didn't care for any of the characters, or what was happening, and harry was just the worst. i can't separate the work from the author, so i'll never support this series.
