can you elaborate on circe? I'm interested in reading it so I just want to hear your thoughts.

I went in with high expectations and I was really disappointed since there was nothing that stood out to me, and there was little that happened in the plot. The whole book just revolved around Circe’s exile and loneliness and that was it. There was literally no plot. I couldn’t connect well with the characters and I found the writing to be incredibly boring. Having said that, I did like the incorporation of Greek mythology, but it wasn’t enough to draw me into the story. The book just wasn’t for me, but you may still enjoy it, so I think you should definetely consider reading it.

I haven’t read any of her other books, and I don’t plan on reading them anytime soon. You may still like Circe though, I’m probably in the minority of people who didn’t enjoy it...

it is the freaking worst honestly. L>ike no just no. City of bones wlecome in the wolrd of incest , a winny charracter that acts like a know it all aka clary , a insta love wich is also incest with is great. Oh and a lot of female / female hate because jelousy

That’s mostly it."
shadow and bone is quite ew. especially the whole romance

to save your brain cells don't read it"
i wont even tho my brain is already damaged
im sorry but i never liked divergent

- Throne of Glass: I HATED this, I was bored and annoyed the entire time. Celaena was the worst, Dorian was the only saving grace.
- Serpent & Dove: cringe-worthy, and should NOT be considered YA. It was like....laughably bad.
- Fangirl: irritating as hell, not a fan of Cath's fetishization of Simon and Baz or her complete inability to understand what a college-level creative writing class is. Oh no, the teacher won't let you submit your fanfiction in their class? That's what the find-and-replace feature is for, Cather. Jeez.
- A Court of Mist and Fury: boring. Toxic relationship. Godawful character "development". Also should not be considered YA.
- The Afterlife of Holly Chase: I just really didn't like this one. It had a super interesting concept that was squandered for a bland romance. Also the main character was awful, I didn't care about her even after her development.
- All the Bright Places: incredibly harmful depictions of mental health, and basically just The Fault In Our Stars but with mental illness instead of cancer.
- Bloom: I HATED the main character, and the main romance was awful. I'm sorry, but (view spoiler)

The rep is bad. Simon's bisexuality was completely erased. I was very unhappy with how that was handled.

That's what I'd heard, and also that there were some homophobic comments made towards lesbian characters (don't remember the exact words, but I know I've seen some quote in regards to Ebb that was pretty bad)

I'm really unhappy with the depiction of LGBTQ+ relationships in general in regards to fantasy because I feel like everyone is always an extreme. They're either gay or lesbian and nothing exists in the middle because that would mean they're not gay. Which is false. And it upsets me.
Carry On was just a stain on the gay book reputation ugh I would like to erase it from my memory

Yes exactly. The rep in general is getting better, but it's mostly gay stuff and sometimes lesbian stuff and nothing else, which aggravates me. You can't have good rep if you're only portraying one part of it smh

Oh that sounds extremely terrible. Rainbow Rowell is not the best either sooo maybe it's a good thing that I won't read the serie s
Even if he was just a confused bean, that could have been explained more because he kept making tactless remarks about "being gay" and he never really learned from them so what's the point

I HATE THOSE GIRLS
I am luckily not one of them.
I hate when straight authors write about gay characters and then get rich but don't do anything with their money to support gay rights
