If it is listed on GR with a publication date, it works.

great! thanks Kat! =)

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.
Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!
You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.
O is for Obscure - Read a book by an author with 25 or fewer distinct works listed on GR.
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be written by authors with 25 or fewer distinct works. When looking at the author's GR page, under the profile and questions is a section for the author's books. Under the section title 'author's books' it has statistics - average rating, number of ratings, number of reviews, number of distinct works. For this task, the number listed there for distinct works needs to be 25 or fewer. Please include a link to the author's GR page in your completion post. If the author writes under pseudonyms, the name listed on the selected book needs to qualify for this task.
** Please note, this has changed from 15 to 25 distinct works.**
O is for Odd - Read a book initially published in an odd month and an odd year.
To qualify, the initial publication date needs to be in an odd month (January, March, May, July, September and November) and an odd year (any year ending in an odd number). For example, March 2019 would work, but January of 2020 would not. If there is an initial publication date listed on the editions page, use that. Otherwise I will will looking for the earliest dated English language edition for the qualification.
O is for Ouch - Read a book featuring a character with an illness, injury or disability.
To qualify for this task, the title, series title, precis, tags or lists need to indicate that the book is about a character with an illness, injury or disability. These MUST be IN CONTEXT!! For example, The Blind Side is not about someone who is blind. 😉 The qualification can be specific such as 'cancer' or 'deaf', or generic like 'disabled' or 'illness'.
O is for Ovation - Read a book with an average rating of 4.2 or higher.
To qualify, the selected books need to have an average rating of 4.2 or higher. You will find the average rating for your selected books on the book's main page under the title and author. If the book has very few ratings and is more likely to change, you may wish to take a screen shot of the rating before rating it yourself, especially if your rating is lower.

If a book has 2 or more authors, and one of them has less that 25 books is ok? or need to be the primary author?

Meaning, that if we're using a book by JD Robb who has 21* distinct works, that's ok even if Nora Roberts has 79,128* distinct works?
*Just an example. Not meant to illustrate this author's real number of distinct works. :)

In context. I am assuming that if the character has scars, they were injured (or something) in some way and the scars are a big deal to them. That the character considers them a disability. Or else why would you know about it.

Amnesia is usually the result of an accident or other trauma, so it would work in context.
Psychotic character is different though, it may not imply a true psychosis and instead be a euphemism. I would need more than that for it to work. And it would need to be in context as well, not referring to the crazy uncle.

It needs to be an important enough character for it to be mentioned or tagged. It doesn't have to the hero or heroine though, could be a best friend for example.

If a book has more than one author, only one of the authors needs to qualify for the task.

Thanks MountainKat."
Yes.

Yes. The tags needs to be in context though - 'crazy best friend' would not work.

Correct, even though your examples made me laugh!

The number I will be using when I check your books is exactly what is described in the qualification for the task. I will not be going through the lists and counting - I will be using the number GR has on the author page.
For Example:
Vi Keeland - has 71 distinct works
Thea Harrison - has 59 distinct works
Lucy Lennox - has 52 distinct works
J.D. Robb - has 145 distinct works

In context. I feel like that tag is often used when a character is dealing with PTSD from the abuse and in that case it would qualify.

Or 'Tortured Hero' as a tag?
Or 'hospitalised'?

Or 'Tortured Hero' as a tag?
Or 'hospitalised'?"
'Alcohol Abuse' would work in context.
'Tortured Hero' would not work on its own, would need some corroborating information.
'Hospitalized' would work.

child abuse
angst trauma tragedy
health issues mental
thanks :)

I think most of those would work in context. I'm most concerned about 'angst trauma tragedy', those don't necessarily fit the task - I would need the precis/other tags to support this one.

The UK left the European Union, not Europe. When I post the qualifications I will include a list of what countries will qualify for the task.

I went back and forth on this - I would allow another cover, but we use English for the page count... Neither is exactly the same!
So I flipped a coin and the answer was -
Yes. 😊🤷🏻♀️😂
