Yes, but you have to be able to show it somehow.

No, but if it is a well known duo or anthology combo I will be checking for the other authors on the read shelf to see if other books by the duo or combo have been read. Anthologies and books by duos are frequently listed on shelves and in the search by only one of the authors.

Also there is no page count listed in any of the editions... But according to my kindle, it's 179 pages.

In a historical book, does a governess work?

(I would assume it would still need the 'student' or 'teacher' tag/list etc...)

1. Does the tags "academic" and "scholar character" works for apple?
2. Can I use the MPG Spy Thriller > Espionage for romantic suspense?
3. "Intelectual heroine" for apple?
4. Does an MPG European Literature > Italian Literature works for abroad?

And about new to you authors...what happens if you DNF the author? Is it new to you or not? :)

Yes it is black enough, please include a link to the book's Amazon page for page count confirmation. 😊

Yes, governess works.

(I would assume it would still need the 'student' or 'teacher' tag/list etc...)"
Hmmm, that is really close to what I decided for coaches. I suppose if it had the appropriate teacher or student tags it would work. But 'mentor' as a tag or in precis is too broad. That is more advisor or counselor than teacher.

1. Does the tags "academic" and "scholar character" works for apple?
2. Can I use the MPG Spy Thriller > Espionage for romantic suspense?
3. "Intelectual he..."
1. Those work, in context.
2. I specifically need a suspense tag for that task.
3. Not alone, no that tag does not work. Just means a smart heroine, not a school setting or teacher.
4. My understanding of those terms would indicate that they are written in/by Italian or European authors - not that the books are set there. For example, many American authors write books set in Europe - they would still be considered American Literature. So, that tag alone would not work.

No, a paid companion is just that, not a teacher.

And about new to you authors...what happens if you DNF the author? Is it new to you or not? :)"
Apprentice would work, as aways in context.
As for DNFs, if the author's work is not marked as read, does not have a read date or a rating - and someone is willing to go there again - I would say that is ok.

I'm not ignoring this question - I'm trying to work out an answer...

OK - here is the answer.
If the setting is fictional, it must be very clearly set outside the US. So a fictional country would work, a fictional kingdom is ok, or being set in a completely otherworldly setting will be allowed. But a fictional mountain town is going to be harder to prove, sorry. I need to clearly and obviously know that the book is set outside the US.

Yes, but the mention of the word doesn't imply that that is what the book is about. For example,
As a former apprentice, he was ready to go into the world on his own...
Leaving academia, the professor began a new career as a carpenter...
Being a scholar was no longer fulfilling, so she left to travel Africa...
In context, apprentice, academia, professor and scholar do not imply that the book fits the task. If you wish, you are free to PM me the book.

You do not need to see them actively teaching, but it needs to be a part of who they are. If they are retired and operating a business or something extremely different, I would say that doesn't work. I hope that makes sense.

No, but remember you need to show that part of the book is set outside the US.

And Canada is outside the US for this task, right? (no offense to any Canadians!)
Thanks!

Canada and the US are two seperate countries😝

I will allow pseudonyms because you simply might not realize they are they same author.
And yes, Canada is outside the US. I know this because I have to use my passport to visit my sister there!

🌹Theme - Quarantine Dating🌹
Date 2 - A - Romantic Getaway - TASK ANNOUNCEMENT
A is for Alibi - Read a Romantic Suspense book.
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be tagged as 'suspense', alone or combined. The qualification for this task comes from tags/shelves ONLY. The tag does not have to be MPG, but the book must be tagged at least once to qualify. Please include a link to the top shelves page of your book's qualifying tag (not to the people who have used that tag or to the shelf for the tag!), the number of tags and the top shelves page number in your completion post. This information helps if the link is broken or if the tag moves as they frequently do..
Remember books must be 90 pages (first edition English language Kindle) and MPG Romance!!
You have until Friday, January 1 @ Midnight US EDT to post your completion(s).
Serial Dating Roses will be limited to 10 per team for this date. Scavenger Hunt Roses will be limited to 10 per person for this date.
Please ensure that your completion post conforms to message #3 of your team thread. If you complete more than one book for the date task, be sure to include that information in your completion post. Remember no discussion in your completion posts!
