What helps the most is the number of books everyone has read, message # of the completion post (with or without links), longest book if you aren't keeping page numbers with the books. If you can keep track of total number of pages read great, it is something else to double check - but if the number of books match my count should be accurate (or pretty close anyway). It is all just a way for me to double check if something seems off. I can't think of anything else... "

Thanks, Kat. This is helpful. I'm keeping track of all these so I should be good.

I know we have until Friday @Midnight for reading, but I imagine I can finalize the Captain post early on Sat morning?

MountainKat | 31636 comments OK, everyone - I've made through the SH thread and a few of the teams. 😳 I should get caught up in the tracking tomorrow. 🤞🏼

I am also trying to get some things finished up for the holidays, so I'm going slower than usual. But I try to keep up with this thread!

And as always, if I missed a question, please let me know! 😊

D.G. | 4477 comments Hey Kat - I just read a book with 4 Kindle First English Editions (including two UK) that had different page numbers. I used the one with the highest number of pages, :) which happens to be one of the UK ones. Just confirming that's good?

message 175: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 4477 comments Also Kat...I created this spreadsheet to keep track of my team reads. Can you refer to this instead of me updating a post? It's just so much easier to make edits and it calculates everything automatically. Please let me know. :)

Yes, that is ok. As long as the dates are all the same (and the earliest), you can use any English language edition. 😊

I can use that. If you would please keep a link where you have your tracking, that works. If you want to include any of the basic info in your tracking posts, that would be great too, but not necessary. Anything that saves steps for all of us is good!

D.G. | 4477 comments Awesome, Kat. Thanks to both!!

Re-Spreadsheet: I'll keep some of the totals in the tracking posts but I'll keep the actual tracking of who read what in the spreadsheet. :)

D.G. | 4477 comments Also, another question. Will this one work for black cover?
Stay (WAGs, #2) by Sarina Bowen

According to TinEye, there are two types of black in this image:
43.3% #000000 black
11.8% #1d1615 black

Given that black adds more than 50%, I'd say that works but wanted to confirm. :)

MountainKat | 31636 comments Date 2 - A - Tasks: Breakdown of the qualifications for possible tasks for Date 2.

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.

Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!

You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.

A is for Abroad - Read a book set outside the US.

To qualify for this task, the title, series title, précis, book details list or tag would need to indicate that the selected book Is set outside the United States. The setting can be a city, country or region. Remember, I am super picky about combo-tags!

A is for Acclimate - Read a book by a new to you author.

To qualify, the author of the selected book needs to be a new to you author. You can have other books by the selected author on your shelves, but only the one you read for this task can be marked as read. If your profile is private, you will either need to open it for the duration of this task or friend me so that I can confirm your books.

A is for Alibi - Read a Romantic Suspense book.

To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be tagged as 'suspense', alone or combined. The qualification for this task comes from tags/shelves ONLY. The tag does not have to be MPG, but the book must be tagged at least once to qualify. Please include a link to the top shelves page of your book's qualifying tag (not to the people who have used that tag or to the shelf for the tag!), the number of tags and the top shelves page number in your completion post. This information helps if the link is broken or if the tag moves as they frequently do.

A is for Apple - Read a book with a school setting or one featuring teacher or student.

To qualify, the title, precis, tags or list would need to indicate that the selected book has a school setting or features a teacher or student. Coaches will be allowed in context, that being they are coaching/teaching children up to college age. Professional or adult league coaches will not be allowed.
