Stephanie A-M (steph818) | 35 comments I am shooting for at least 100 books this year. I am giving myself a little more latitude to include books of poetry and short stories as well and YA and some kid lit. I'm an elementary educator and I want to be more intentional about reading, reviewing and recommending books for my students. This challenge will help with that.

Thank you Lisa. I am working on compiling my January TBR stack now. What's on your list for the first month of the year?

I'm a mood-reader through-and-through, so I haven't the slightest!
I do have some specific goals I'd like to achieve throughout the year, like to read more classics. But whether I get to any of those in January, is anyone's guess at this point.

I plan on looking into upcoming releases and see if there's anything that piques my interest. Otherwise, I'll be twiddling my thumbs until January 1st :D

Stephanie A-M (steph818) | 35 comments Today (1/2) was a pretty good reading day. Two children's picture books; one Tween novel and one adult novel. Onto finishing Dear Edward and starting A Promised Land so that I can be ready for discussion with my reading twin. Hoping to finish both by next Sunday.

Thanks so much. I was able to put 5 books on the board this weekend. I also got my TBR titles set up for the rest of the month so I am feeling super optimistic. I appreciate all of the blessings and well wishes! Hope you have an awesome reading year as well.

In honor of Black History Month I have selected books by Black authors throughout the Diaspora. I am also doing a huge kid lit haul this month featuring Black authors and Black characters.

My first read for this month is:

Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams
Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams

Stephanie A-M (steph818) | 35 comments Having a much slower reading month. I paused on Queenie. I just finished Memorial Drive by Natasha Trethewey. I also did a 6 book kid lit haul. They were fantastic picture books. I have a few more to pick up this weekend.

My next two reads are Aftershocks and Memorial

I don't think I am going to get to 10 this month but I will settle for 5 by 2/28.
