Thanks Adela.

I really needed somewhere to just talk about random stuff.

Woah. Thanks.
So first things first. I just need to rant about this. Online school sucks. Further my parents got me into tuitions for maths and science which were actually much needed and now I am regularly having tests on tuitions and am not able to do anything else. Like I just listen to audiobooks nowadays that's the only way I can actually read a book now. That too I only listen when I am *eating*.
I love music but am never able to practice nowadays. Most of the free time I have I spend on goodreads.😂
It's fun though. At least I get to talk to someone. This lockdown is really gonna make me go insane, i.e. If I am not already.

message 5: by eli ♡ (new)

eli ♡ | 2464 comments I totally understand. I enjoy how with online school, I can actually be a lot more productive and I stay on task. But I never have time to read and when I do think I have time over the weekend, we have to do a zoom call or do chores. Like, I love my family and all, but sometimes, I don't want to do a "family zoom call", I just want to sit in a corner and read silently.

Ayla (storiesandfolklore) | 4715 comments Ugh yeah I hate online school. I'm not as productive during online school though lol because it's just easier if I'm actually in school.

maryam مريم (raindropsandastorm) Online school is just too bad. Thanks to COVID!

message 8: by eli ♡ (new)

eli ♡ | 2464 comments the only reason I'm more productive is because I'm not around the fools at my school. At least now, I know I'll be able to graduate middle school and get out of this living hell.

Same.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

One good thing about online school is that the good students do not get scolded because of the class clowns.

message 12: by eli ♡ (new)

eli ♡ | 2464 comments exactly. I'm one of the "good students", and I don't want to be held back by fools.

maryam مريم (raindropsandastorm) Yes. I hate it when the whole class get punished for some people's doing.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

You know what, I just want to know one thing, what is the difference between recess and lunch break in America? I am really confused because we call it both. But I have read books where they say that recess is not there in middle school. So, what's the difference?

message 16: by human (new)

human (that0nefangirl) | 15694 comments In lunch break, we have lunch in the cafeteria. At least for me, we had recess afterwards, where we would go outside and play, but that was only in elementary school (primary school).

message 17: by eli ♡ (new)

eli ♡ | 2464 comments yeah, that's how it was for me too. but at my old elementary school, they only gave us 30 minutes for recces, and I'm still a little mad about it.

message 18: by human (new)

human (that0nefangirl) | 15694 comments @Lanae We only had half an hour for lunch, but 15 minutes for recess

message 19: by eli ♡ (last edited Dec 01, 2020 08:02PM) (new)

eli ♡ | 2464 comments that's tough. and I'm over here being salty about 30 minutes, smh

message 21: by queen victoria (new)

queen victoria (makevocaloidgreatagain) at my school everyone has 20 minutes of recess in the morning. then we get 15 minutes to eat and 30 minutes to play after. i seriously wanted to hug you guys after you said only fifteen minutes to play. ONLY FIFTEEN REALLY PEOPLE CHILDREN NEED MORE

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

We were never *allowed* to play but some people still did anyways.
Our school has kintergarten, elementary, middle and high school classes so we all have lunch break at the same time. But we are not allowed to sit in the cafeteria. Only teachers are allowed to sit there. We usually sit in the school grounds or when it is raining, in the classroom itself.

Yes! In our school we have a a lunch hall where we do our lunch. everyone including the teachers sit there. Unfortunately not with our friends but according to our divisions

lmao they always tried to keep us indoors for those fifteen minutes

We used to have to sit in divisions when we were in primary classes.

I love how many countries don't have an assigned uniform for school and the students can wear any clothes. We can't even wear rubberbands of any colour besides black, let alone any clothes.

Our school's like that too. All Asian schools, it seems.

Sooo true. We can't even leave our open or tie them into a pony. Only 2 braids or two pony tails!!
And the uniforms.... I am speechless....

message 29: by Akshita (new)

Akshita | 823 comments Right! Schools here have such useless, close-minded rules about uniform. And they make it such priority.
"Skirts should cover your knees." "No colorful hair ties ."
"Long socks" "no lipgloss" and whatnot 🙄🙄
Or else you will be shamed by the teachers themselves for not being sincere and focusing on "fashion." 🤮
Like, yeah, let's not let students be comfortable with their clothes and bodies. It's all so messed up!

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah Akshita and Srujan. I agree.
And Hi Charlotte!

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

We had exams all through September and October this year. It was so stressful. And now December has started and they're not even giving us the result. I hate it. And I am pretty sure that we'll have exams in December again. I just wish for once that the Indian education system was more about gaining knowledge than about giving exams.
And honestly this thing is so fun. The personal nooks. I don't feel like I have to talk about a certain subject.

message 33: by eli ♡ (new)

eli ♡ | 2464 comments I literally hated all the tests the county made us take in elementary school. We had so many tests, and we had to do the science fair. I think school tries to make us wear uniforms and stuff because it's supposed to be a job, because that's what it feels like.

I am currently in 10th and you definitely know all the shitty hype around our BOARD EXAMS.
My exams are starting from 8th December and you know what they are going to last till my boards start and we don't know this year when they going to start, they aren't even giving clarity sometimes our ICSE council says it is in February sometimes it says it is in May! I am like, I am a normal teenager, I wanna enjoy my life! My half life just goes in giving those 100 marks exams every two months. It is so stressful!
I really hate our Indian Education System and all those useless and unwanted rules.

ooh you have a book nook, hi nimrat!!

message 37: by Akshita (new)

Akshita | 823 comments Do you also have two pre-board exams? And how strict is the checking?
Our school made super hard pre-boards and even the checking wasn't lenient at all!! But BOARDS ARE SO MUCH EASIER THAN THAT!!

Oh yes, we have two pre boards, I have them in January so I have not given them yet. And yeah, a lot of my seniors told me that the boards checking is very lenient.

I get you. Though I am grateful that I am not in 10th at this time. I am in 9th. I don't really know much about ICSE board, but CBSE and the state boards are also doing that.

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok. I just have to rant about this. I hate it when we get the same teacher for two subjects. Now we have the same teacher for biology and Moral Science. So in the Moral Science period ma'am started teaching Biology. I mean this is not fair.

message 42: by Lia (new)

Lia (wafflewraith) | 471 comments Hi Nimrat👋
I totally get it. It sucks! I used to have the same teacher for math and physics. And more often than not, we'd end up writing math tests during physics class😬: "spot tests", he'd say, "be prepared for the unexpected".

So eventually we just started carrying all our books to his class.

Same teacher for Physics and maths? Those are the 2 subjects I score least in. I'd die honestly. Well not really. But you get the idea.

message 44: by Lia (new)

Lia (wafflewraith) | 471 comments You aren't alone in that, I was the same! They were never my favourite subjects but now I kinda like them, except for geometry. I'm terrible at that🙈

message 45: by Lia (new)

Lia (wafflewraith) | 471 comments I've come to learn it's all about the time you put into it, and the practice. It takes a lot of determination to get through it.

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah I agree Lia.

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

I just need to write this.
I love the way my SST teacher teaches, she makes even the most boring topics interesting. She always tries to find an interesting youtube video for every lecture and asks loads of questions. We had her last year too, I wish we have her next year too. She's the best SST teacher ever.

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

I want to share this.
Once I was thinking about how everyone in Percy Jackson is related to each other. So I kinda figured something out.

Zeus is Percy's uncle and Athena is Zeus's daughter, so Athena is Percy's cousin. And Annabeth is Athena's daughter so she is kinda Percy's niece.😝

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

AHHHHHHHHHH

message 50: by celine (new)

celine i think they literally built an explaination for this into the series. like in the first book doesn’t annabeth make a point to explain to percy ur only related to ppl that share ur godly parent? cuz of like ichor or whatever?
