Someone told me that Pestilence is a heavy metal song haha, so I'm rolling with it.

I ended up reading The Deep by Rivers Solomon for this, which was really good and the connection between the song (by clipping.) and the book is fascinating in and of itself. Rivers Solomon is also a black author, which has been a priority of mine to read more of this year.
I saw Go Ask Alice on this list. That is not the name of the song. The song's name is White Rabbit; "go ask Alice" is just a line in the song, but many people mistakenly call it that.
I just finished reading Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas, and when I googled it, I realized it was also the name of a Wyclef Jean hip-hop song. So, this was a surprise prompt for me! I was going to use this book for a book that was published in 2021. However, I'm sure I'll read another 2021 book this year, so I will wait on that prompt. This is a prequel to Angie Thomas's The Hate U Give. It is an exploration of Black manhood and boyhood. Maverick Carter, a 17 year old boy, that lives in Garden Heights learns what it takes to take care of a family. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I would definitely recommend this book and The Hate U Give.

Also, there is a book called White Rabbit which does work and I highly recommend.
Also, I literally have been staring at a book on my dresser for about two months not realizing it fits this prompt.
Seven Devils is the title of a song by Florence and the Machine which is one of my favorite artists. So, yea, lots of choices. Contemporary especially seems to have a habit of having titles that match song titles.

Oh man, I *just* read Just for You to my son last night - it's on the Book Riot list.... but somehow I don't think it's quite long enough to qualify for our challenge. 😂
I think I made it nearly halfway through Radio Silence by Alice Oseman before it dawned on me it was a Styx song! Also, thank you to this thread for reminding me of The Female of the Species, which is a song I used to love and haven't listened to in yeeeears
Whenever I finished a book and didn't have a matching prompt for it, I plugged the title into Spotify to see if anything would come up. My winner was The Huntress.
Curious what folks think of counting Kafka on the Shore for this prompt. I'm reading it right now, and there's a fictional song in the book called "Kafka on the Shore."

Lolo wrote: "I'm going to read Indigo by Beverly Jenkins. Numerous artists have songs named Indigo. I like the song by NIKI."I read that book last year. It was really good.
Theresa wrote: "Midnight Blue by Simone van der Vlugt - historical fiction Same as Melissa Manchester's hit song Midnight Blue."
also, the lead singer of Foreigner had a hit with his solo song Midnight Blue - I really liked that song!
Sandra wrote: "I am reading the Bridgerton series, and one is called "It's in his Kiss"."I'm doing a lot of challenges this year and those books fell into a lot of prompts :)
I read Brown Girl in the Ring for this prompt, but I had a lot of other options. It's a traditional song but of course I remembered it for the Wiggles version ;)

Currently reading (Don't You) Forget About Me, which is a creepier book than I anticipated. It reminds me a little of We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves, but with an odd addition of a secluded village and a little magical realism / apocalyptic feel. Every other chapter is a flashback chapter with a title of a different song, too, so it kind of takes this category to a whole other level.
I read "Blood on the Tracks" by Barbara Nickless for a mystery book club I'm in and I'm counting that, since that's also the title of Bob Dylan album and that's close enough for me!
i have so many that would work for this but I'm going to go with So Over You by Gwen Hayes. I've never heard the song by Auburn but it's pretty fun.
I read Malorie for this prompt, which is the same title as a song written/performed by Billy Paul released in 1975.
I just finished Creep by Jennifer Hillier for this prompt. The irony... the song was actually referenced in the book.

I'm thinking about reading this for "magical realism" - do you think it fits?

Definitely! I thought about swapping it for the Midnight Library since it FELT like a stretch for magical realism, but ended up just leaving it and fitting this in here.I wonder if anyone else moves things around later in the challenge.
I wound up reading Nothin' But a Good Time: The Uncensored History of the '80s Hard Rock Explosion, which was an interesting read and the title comes from an old Poison song. I already knew about some of it, but there were definitely some stories I had never heard. It's pretty good for any one that grew up in or just curious about that era.The format is a little different. It's not really linear and organized around various interviews, so it would also fill the "Book in a Different Format" prompt.
It was also published this year, so it would fill "A Book Published in 2021" too.
I'm going to read A Thousand Ships. There is a song by Natalie Platten called 1,000 ships, and for me that's close enough.
I also read a Silicon Valley book Uncanny Valley by Anna Wiener. The song is Uncanny Valley by Dan Wilson.
I started reading I Don't Forgive You by Aggie Blum Thompson. Then I realized that I misremembered the song 'I Won't Forgive You' by Words Like Wildfire. I'm gonna continue listening to this book, I guess this works as well.
I happened to see a Kazuo Ishiguro book with the same title as a song I like! Come Rain or Come Shine
The version of the song I like: Joe Williams and Count Basie

I was looking through the books I read this year so far and found one named as A Stranger in the House by Shari Lapena. So I'm adding this one.
The Wee Free Men, Wintersmith, and The Good Witch were Terry Pratchett books and Steeleye Span songs on their Wintersmith album. I think all of the titles on the album are inspired by Discworld.
Does The Catcher in the Rye work for this? Apparently, there's a song called Catcher in the Rye - https://www.songfacts.com/facts/guns-...
Bouchra wrote: "Does The Catcher in the Rye work for this? Apparently, there's a song called Catcher in the Rye - https://www.songfacts.com/facts/guns-..."From what I can see, yes! It counts. :)
