I just finished this and I absolutely loved it
Animal Farm by George Orwell - everyone read this when I was in high school and college but not me. It was definitely worth reading and is still very relevant.

My sister and friends who had a different teacher read 1984, which I did not read until about a decade ago. Both still resonate today.

Oh, I have this one down for a different prompt, so that's not good to hear. Here in Australia we haven't been very affected, so I might still go ahead.
I'm planning to read the first book in the Outlander series for this prompt - a lot of my friends love this series but I haven't read it yet.

Several years ago, I had the opportunity to hear Diana Gabaldon speak at a library event. There were hundreds of people there, and I'm pretty sure I was the only one in the audience who hadn't actually read the books. The lady who was sitting next to me kept talking about how much she loved the books and the characters, and I just couldn't bring myself to admit that I hadn't read them.
I stood in line for hours to get the first book of the series signed that night...and I still haven't read it!
I just finished The Handmaid's Tale for this prompt. I understand why it's become a classic, but I found the introspective style hard to get through. I've heard The Testaments is far more action-oriented, so I might find that an easier read.
I suggested the general idea for this prompt, because there's SO many books I haven't read that I feel like I should have. My plan is to read The Diary of a Young Girl. I own it (though it might be in storage in the garage at the moment), so I can get to it whenever I want. But some other choices could be:1984
Call of the Wild
LOTR
Brave New World
Anything by John Steinbeck
Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn
Anything by Dickens (other than Christmas Carol)
Lolita
Hamlet
ETC ETC
And that's not even counting modern stuff like GOT or Outlander
Kara wrote: "My first thought for this prompt was Fifty Shades of Grey and I refuse.Maybe I'll finally give Jane Eyre or A Game of Thrones a try"
idk if you already started A Game of Thrones. I loved the books, they are much much better than the tv show. However, I had to read the first 200 pages of the first book twice to get into the story. It's a bit dull at the beginning, but it's a necessary set up for the rest of the series. So push through and try to finish the first book :)
I didn't know that I read a book for this prompt until I went to review it but I'll count it anyway. I read The Alchemist for this prompt. I hadn't even heard of it before I found it on my libraries website and it turns out it has 2,000,000 ratings. It was really good so I have no idea how I missed this one for so long lol.
I'm going to do Girl on the Train- I somehow never managed to read it a few years ago when it was mega popular!
I cant’t believe I haven’t read it, so this is a great opportunity: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe
I read The Duke & I (Bridgertons,#1) by Julia Quinn. With the Netflix series I feel everyone has read this book but me. I got the e book on Hoopla but on Overdrive there is a 6 month wait.
I think one can argue that any of the books that have read by this group for BOTMs that you have yet to read would be applicable.
I read The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. I wanted to read it anyway, the blurb describes it as 'the record-breaking number one bestseller' and there have been lots of articles about it.
It was a very good book - funny, sad, realistic about old age, and with a well-plotted murder mystery (and several other mysteries solved as well).
I read Where the Crawdads Sing. It had been on my TBR list and this prompt gave me the push to read it.
ok-- I know this is a new book, but it does FEEL like everyone has read it but me... so I'm counting it!Finished Malibu Rising

Just read "I Capture the Castle" and quite enjoyed it. Is the movie worth watching? #justiceforStephen
Finished Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout for this one. Excellent writing, but thoroughly depressing.
I am reading The Complete Maus for this prompt. I have seen this book on every graphic novel list. I was finally able to get a copy.
I have so many, but one of them that I want to read this or next month is Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire.
I'll start the invisible life of Addie La Rue for this one. Literally everyone seems to have read it so I think why not
I finally read Pride and Prejudice! I’ve never even seen the movies or TV adaptations so it was a complete surprise for me.
Dana wrote: "I have so many, but one of them that I want to read this or next month is Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire."Everyone seemed to have read A series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket so I also read it.
I add The Reptile Room by Lemony Snicket.
Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds is as good as everyone made it sound. A book doesn't have to be long to pack a punch.
