It could be a book a good friend/a family member etc. recommended (their fave book) or gifted you. Or maybe a book you bought on a holiday, so then it reminds you of that holiday. I don't have anything in mind for this yet but it's indeed a nice one to be flexible about.
Hmm, lots of options here. My favorite places are Chile, Norway, Colorado, Banff, redwood forests, bookstores, libraries, and cabins near lakes. Favorite things include books (of course!), nature, community/connection/love, dancing, and cheesy or crunchy food, haha. Favorite people... too many to list!
Going to read a book my sister has recommended. She is one of my favorite people and as she recommended it I will always associate the book with her
I lost my dad in 2014 and he's been my favorite person for a long time and I miss him so much. Growing up I remember he read "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!" Adventures of a Curious Character and loved it... I've been looking at this lately... it give me warm thoughts because it reminds me of my dad and how much he liked it.
I will read The Four Winds because my mother and my mother in law, two of my favorite people, both love Kristin Hannah.
This is a fun prompt! I remember my best friend carrying around No Name by Wilkie Collins years ago and that is a good memory, so I'll try reading that.
I love the ocean, cheese and reading. My family and friends. I'll see what I come up with. But maybe Dispossesed by le Guin, a book my sister loves and my husband gifted to me: Two of my favourite people in the world.
My favorite animals are elephants so I'll read Elephants Can Remember. I'm continuing to read one Poirot mystery a month in 2021, but it's much harder to fit in Agatha Christie books this year. I'm glad to have such an open prompt.

I'm thinking about reading The Wrong Mr. Darcy, not only because of the Pride and Prejudice connection, but also because my cat's name is Darcy.
Night Waking, for so many reasons. It's set in Scotland, it's on a Scottish island, it's about a mother with young children, and there's a midwife in it. So we've got place, person (my kids when they were young) and thing (career).
Mahi wrote: "This one is really hard for me - I can't think of anything!"It's the opposite for me. I feel like most books I've read would work in some way. Maybe a character reminds me of my mother or father, or husband, or my son, or a friend. Or maybe it's a book that was mentioned or recommended by one of those people. Or the "favorite person" could be a celebrity, or even an author. (So in theory any book by a favorite author would work.)
I have many favorite places in the world, not only all the countries/cities I've visited, but also campgrounds, parks, lakes, restaurants, bars, family homes.. So many books are at least partly set somewhere I could associate with a favorite place. Heck, libraries are one of my favorite places -- I could say any book I get from there is one that I "associate with a favorite place".
I plan to leave this open and wait until the right book comes along. But I also feel like I could make almost any book work.

I agree with Linda. My mother and I before she died would discuss books read. Many times I would recommend books which I thought she would enjoy. Using this as a filter in reading a book, I'm sure I will read this book and think, "I wish I could share this with my mother."
I am reading
because I have loved Jeopardy & Alex Trebek forever & we will miss him so very much at my house! I had it on my TBR before he passed in November, so it will be perfect for this prompt... RIP.
I read "A Pictorial Guide to Biltmore" since this book reminded me of the first girl's trip I took with my best friend to Ashville, NC.
One of my favorite people passed away a few weeks ago. He always had a copy of Howl and Other Poems with him, and we watched a documentary about Allen Ginsburg together many times.

I loveHowl and Other Poems, and anyone who has the sensitivity and literary taste to carry these poems with him is someone to be treasured.
I read Cress which is a rapunzel retelling, Rapunzel is my favourite Disney princess, and Tangled one of my favourite films!
One of my favorite loves in this world is my dog Guinness so I will be reading one of these 3 titles for this prompt!!The Glorious Guinness Girls
The Search for God and Guinness: A Biography of the Beer That Changed the World
The Guinness Book of Poisonous Quotes

Then Alex Trebek died and I cried and cried. I haven't watched an episode since he died :(
Favorite Classic is Jane Eyre and this is a modern day retelling.Finished The Wife Upstairs
by Rachel HawkinsMy Review:

I read The Kitchen Front because it features food, England, and history! The book is about a cooking contest in England during WWII to determine who will get to add their voice to the radio program that discusses how to make food rations go further. Great concept, mediocre execution IMO.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig - since libraries are some of my favourite places. It also features a cat - my favourite animal.
I've just started Daughter of the Pirate KingNot only is there a quote at the beginning from it which solidifies the connection, ever since I saw the very first movie, the Pirates of the Caribbean films have always held a very special place in my heart and I've long referred to them as my favourite movies. Whenever I hear 'pirate' I think of them.
I read Here I Am by Jonathan Safran Foer. 2 stars. He is one of my favorite authors. I loved Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close. I liked Everything Is Illuminated. I didn't like this book at all it has been on my TBR list since 6/10/2017.
I pick The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater for this because it always make me think of Kayla from BooksandLala, which is my favourite booktuber.
I ended up using Growth of the Soil by Knut Hamsun for this one, which is set in Norway and made me think of my other family there.
Dana wrote: "I pick The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater for this because it always make me think of Kayla from BooksandLala, which is my favourite booktuber."I listened to the series of Unfortunate Events, so I pick The End by Lemony Snicket, because it reminds me of the Sea and islands.
I read The Thirteenth Tale.It had an introverted narrator who loved to read. An a character who was a writer, but really more of a storyteller.

That's kind of wide open, isn't it? I know some members struggle when it comes to identifying a "favorite" so let yourself be flexible on this one. Maybe I'll read a book that reminds me of my daughters, or maybe I'll read a book set on the beach.
Since TBRs are unique to each reader, I did not create a Listopia for this. But I'm hoping we can bounce ideas off of each other in this post, because tbh I'm a bit stumped!!
