B Blessed, I started reading our first book last night. As I thought about what I was reading it almost made me sad. I know it’s fiction loosely based on the authors life. But being African American I know people really thought like this and some people still do. I asked myself, how horrific slavery had to have been to make us this way. It also made me thank GOD that we’re were all born around the beginning of this era when discrimination is no longer the law of the land and the violence of racism is less prevalent. In fact I think many of us are proud, unapologetically African American.
