Week 1 Reading Discussion Part 1: Prologue- Ch 10

I am so excited about this book. Please leave your thoughts below! I would love to hear what you think as well as any predictions!!!!

so I just started. I stopped at chapter 4. First impressions.... this book has the atmosphere of twilight but the nostalgia of shadowhunters. Does anyone else get that or is it just me. The book is pretty graceful with showing diversity which I like. I personally hate seeing it forced. It felt a little slow at first but man we get some good stuff before chapter 1 even ends a whole action scene by chapter 2. The book is explaining this mystery world fluidly which I respect how smart it feels. No info dumping just learning and picking things up as the protagonist does. Nice Job Tracy.... major respect for that. So far so good. The only downside Im not quite loving any particular character yet but the book is still young...lol. I look forward to picking it back up tomorrow. Now I sleep. zzzzz-zzzzzz

I am beyond excited now. my favorite troupe ever! A Tournament! If we are lucky there will be blood! fingers crossed!

Im done with this section! Its a little sad to read in the beginning but it has some good action scenes to pick up the mood. however now I think we are past the overwhelming sad part of this book and its all action and strategy now. Fingers crossed!

oh yes right now Im totally Team Nick! I know he's the second male lead and won't win the heart of Bree but hell I'm rooting for him!

I have to admit, this book was hard for me to pickup in the beginning, but now I am all in!

Definitely team Nick, but I don’t think Bree’s heart needs to be won. I feel that if she can heal, that would be enough.

Originally, I was thinking her mom was legendborn, and that played into her anger when Bree applied behind her back. Now that theory seems dead in the water, I wonder if that answer won’t come until the end of the book or the end of the series... but enough jumping ahead. I’ll just continue to enjoy the next section!

Real talk you right but I think it had some good action scenes but mixed with the sadness and depression it was always short lived but now she got mission Im looking forward to the next section .

Things switched up real quick when Nick stepped into the picture. I wonder is he just a good distraction.
