Isn't it so much fun??!

Melissa (melissa12345678) | 54 comments I read this and found myself skipping over the magical stuff just to read the historical fiction part! ;) Dunno why I didn't like the mystical stuff but it was not as good imho as the regular Nannerl story. I wish I could find more historical books about famous people that were as interesting, as the non magical parts of this book.

I have to agree! While I enjoyed the magical parts, the historical parts were the most interesting for me. It was fun to read about but I would have enjoyed it more if the antagonists weren’t the source of the conflict maybe? Reading about Nannerl, Wolfgang and their family problems was just too enjoyable for me XD The character building and plot development also felt more mature for me with that plot line because the mystical plot line made it... feel younger in some way?

Melissa (melissa12345678) | 54 comments yeah, in my library the book is shelved in YA fiction

It is definitely made for the YA genre without a doubt and going off the historical fiction aspect, I loved reading the author's note at the end that talks about her thoughts and reason for writing this novel.

Same!! Their acknowledgments was so good 🥺🥺

Melissa (melissa12345678) | 54 comments yeah that was pretty great, the end bit. I love how she portrayed Nannerl's character throughout the book. such realistic inner dialogue and thoughts.

This book really surprised me with how much I enjoyed it. I didn't expect to love Nannerl so much but Lu made her feel like a friend rather than a historical figure.

I agree!! Nannerl felt really close to the reader which I loved.
