I read this book in 2018 and forgot what it's called. I know it's in a series but i don't know what it is. I really want to finish the series off. Thanks in advance :)

Do you mean who killed "her" father?
This sounds like a spoiler: "but it turned out her father was part of a cult to help make the guy"? I added a spoiler alert to the header.
SPOILER AHEAD. I believe this book is directed at teenagers. They never specified the age of the characters however, they would've been about 16-18 I believe. Her dad died after being shot while driving a car and protecting the immortal person before they became immortal. I believe the immortal person jumped in the river Thames to test his immortality. He also gets captured by people who want to know how he made the elixir of life. They don't know that he has forgotten who he is and think he is playing dumb. I also believe that the book is a trilogy. Thanks again :)

Her dad died after being shot while dr..."Tanith Lee, Tales of Flat Earth, in one of them is a plot about a teenaged nomad boy and girl priestess, who become immortal and the river scene was very similar.
