I think I only read one book in each of those series, but I really want to catch up with Midnight Louie and, also, the Joe Grey series. So many great books out there.

If I sign up for the What An Animal can I count a book twice, or if I sign up for Cruisin' Thru the Cozies? I've read 275 books so far this year and most were cozies, with critters, especially cats featured in many of them/

If you read a book that qualifies for What An Animal and Cruisin' thru the Cozies, you can count it on each challenge as a book towards that challenge. Crossovers to other challenges are allowed.

Suzy - you've read 275 books so far this year?!? Wow that is amazing. I am pushing 100 but if I were still driving an hour to work and an hour home, I'm sure it would be higher. Working from home since April has really cut down on my audiobook numbers.

Sarah - I host three reading challenges. This one, What An Animal reading challenge and Cruisin' thru the Cozies. They each have their own group.

I am in three groups. This one, What an Animal and Crusin' thru the Cozies. Since I read mostly cozies, and many have animals, especially cats, I figure I can manage all three.
I can read that many because I am retired (I did average about 135 per year the last three years I worked) and my husband has some issues, so I rarely leave home. Fortunately, I love to read and have both a good local library and I can afford to buy quite a few books. I come from a family of readers, and my husband is also a reader, so gifts are frequently books or gift cards for books.
I only retired at the beginning of 2019, so I do recall the commuting and how much time is devoted to preparing for, get to, working all day, getting home and then trying to unwind after a long day. I even had a 70 mile, 90 minute commute for a while, but I changed jobs to save my sanity. An hour I could handle, but the additional 30 minutes pushed me over the edge.

I used a book from the same series, so I hope so.

Yes, that series would definitely count.
Yes, that series would definitely count.
Susy wrote: "Because of the focus of that series, I would think every book in the series should count for both the Purring and Animal challenges."
You are correct. I'm behind in that series, but I do plan to catch up. I love Krista Davis' books.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are dozens more. You can find a list here, but you aren't limited to just these choices. If you find others, that's great.
Here are the levels you can choose from:
Purring - Read 1-10 cat mysteries
Kneading - Read 11-20 cat mysteries
Meowing - Read 21-30 cat mysteries
Catnip - Go crazy and read at least 31 and go as high as you'd like - the sky is the limit!
The challenge will begin on January 1, 2021 and end on December 31, 2021.
The rules are really simple.
1. Any book read for this challenge has to be a mystery and have a cat that plays a major role in the book.
2. You may make a list of books at the beginning of the challenge or you can just list them as you find them.
3. Book titles may be swapped out at anytime for those who make a list in advance.
4. Crossovers with other challenges are permitted and encouraged.
5. Books can be in any format of your choice (print, audio, ebooks)
6. To sign up, choose one of the levels from the above list and create a folder for yourself in this folder. Or you can sign up on my blog at https://socratesbookreviews.blogspot.com
Enjoy and have fun!
