One of the best ones I read this year was The Art of Racing in the Rain! such good insight and amazing plot
Best: The Death of Vivek Oji; The Hearts Invisible Furies; Betty. Worst: Piranesi; Mexican Gothic.

The worst book I read this year is A Song for Ella Grey by David Almond, which I read because I'd bought it years ago because it has a shiny cover (yes I'm Like that, pls don't @ me, I've suffered enough) and I absolutely hated it.I read so many books that I absolutely loved this year, I can't choose one, but the one I read most recently and loved was the Invisible Life of Addie Larue by V.E. Schwab.

Best book: SNOW by John Banville. It was somewhat predictable, but I love mysteries, especially those set in Ireland or the UK, and Banville's beautiful prose was a terrific plus. Tied for best with THE HEART'S INVISIBLE FURIES by John Boyne. Just loved this book and its protagonist. Wonderfully written, with both humor and tragedy.Worst book: THE DRY by Jane Harper. So slow, one-dimensional, and predictable. I knew who the murderer was the second the person made an appearance in the book. And I don't like her detective at all! Tied with THE INVISIBLE LIFE OF ADDIE LARUE by V.E. Schwab. Regarding that book, to put it simply: Nothing happens. The end.
