Steve (semgineer) | 3 comments I am the author of new book self-published on Amazon
(A Fortune of Reversal, ISBN 978-1736024317)
Today I manually added book to GR, and it was linked to previous author Steve Moore.
I want to set up my new Steve Moore author account, remove book from other Steve Moore, and link AFOR to my new author account. Please advise, and thank you.
Steve Moore

I like to take care of my neighbors - I'll see what I can do and be back.

Suzi | 8661 comments 1. I moved your book to a unique author profile, and added the Kindle edition.

2. You have a user profile. You can claim this author profile by going to the author profile page here: Steve Moore

scroll down and click on the link that says is this you?

3. There are already several authors with the same name.

4. Goodreads disambiguates between authors of the same name by using spaces before the author's last name.

5. This author profile has 3 spaces: Steve^^^Moore, where the ^ equals a space.

6. When publications are automatically imported from Amazon or other sources, the "handshake' between Goodreads and the other source do not recognize multiple spaces, so the work goes to the default 1 space profile. It is systemic and in no way implies that another author is claiming your work. Often when users add works, they may not be familiar with the number of spaces that this profile uses, so may only use the default spacing, as you did and this also in no way implies that the other author has claimed your work.

7. You can post in this forum to have it moved as you have done, or you can add the book with the 3 spaces between your first and last name before publication.

8. When you ask for assistance, it is helpful to include that your author profile has 3 spaces.

[B.A. is one of my favorite places I have ever lived. 😁]

wow, Suzi, this is tremendously helpful. I really appreciate you adding the Kindle edition too. Great information for the future. Thank you very much; if there is any way I could ever repay the favor please let me know. - Steve
