I read this book in the 70's or 80's. A young girl has powers (I think). Or she's just very self assured. She's having an affair with an older man and in one scene she tells the man she doesn't like to use the restroom when they're travelling because the feeling of not urinating gives her pleasure. There's also a mention of one of those lawn decorations....the round balls that have an umbra look to them and you can see yourself in them. I think she's evil, but she's deceptive because of her age. Thank you
