Marc-Henri Paradella | 3 comments Hi there, I recently published my first book, and I would be happy to connect with other authors, read their book and write a review, and in exchange receive the same from them. I’m interested in any topic around the themes of spirituality, religion, mysticism, and especially with a critical and open eye on the religious scene today and the current tendency towards fundamentalism, polarization and tribalism.
... and if you can tell me of other groups that could be interesting in that perspective, I will be grateful

Author review swaps are prohibited under Amazon's review guidelines. Not to mention many consider them unethical.

If you want reviews then the best way is to sell books and let readers leave their opinions organically. Good luck :)

Marc-Henri Paradella | 3 comments Thank you, actually I was thinking of reviews on goodreads, but I guess it’s the same. I wasn’t aware of what you tell me, so again thank you!

Tina Weaver (tinaweaver) | 28 comments Marc-Henri. Seems odd when that’s the whole point. They aren’t asking for a certain result. Just read and review. If I were interested in this book I would read it and let the author know I read and posted a review if they are inclined to reciprocate then what’s wrong with that? There are people who get paid to review. I’m at a loss why a person can’t ask for peopl to review a book.

Carolyn Geduld | 18 comments My understanding is that Amazon wants reviewers to admit they were given copies to review by the author or someone close to the author. This has worked for me. They don't like sneaking

I wonder with how this interacts with about half of people seem to think that you shouldn't post negative reviews, and someone said especially not when you're a fellow author. If that general expectation were in force, then you would only get positive reviews this way. Of course, you might risk getting no review if they didn't like it. But still, it's kind of... I don't know, is there any meaningful place that this thought leads to?

My publisher gives out copies via Netgalley and this is mentioned in the review.

James Glass | 1 comments I’m looking for readers to review my crime thriller, Stone Cold. Here’s the query.

Detective Rebecca Watson is tracking a vicious serial killer in Eugene Falls, Florida. As a distraction, she’s dragged back into court for the retrial of a man convicted of murdering his girlfriend five years earlier. His defense attorney will use any means to get his client freed, including uncovering old wounds from Watson’s past.

As the case takes a few hard turns, nothing can prepare her for the world she’s about to encounter, the past that haunts her, and the truth behind the serial killer’s motive.

I would be happy to email a mobi, ePub or PDF copy if you’re interested. You can message me on Goodreads or send an email to James.c.glass@aol.com

Thanks
