Hi, fellow authors. I recently published my first book with Apocryphile press, and now I’m discovering the hard work of promoting it. Have some of you had gook experiences in sending your manuscript to newspapers? And if it’s the case, how did you find the right persons to send it to?

This is the hardest part especially now during Covid. Once this is over get friends together and have a book signing. There are local book stores that will do it if you have a big enough promise of sales. I brought books and they bought books to sell.
I carried my books postcards and book marks with me. I approached people reading a book or kindle. Asked what kind of books they liked to read then handed them a postcard. Asked if it wasn’t their genre to pass it along. I saw people at the mall wit BnN bags and asked if they bought books. Then asked what books they read or If they knew an avid reader. Handed them a postcard to pass along. I never push or tell what the book is about unless they ask and try to keep it short. Do your elevator pitch. Only respond to their questions I try to watch for eyeglaze and back off.
Do you have a FB page and post there. Ask your friend to like the page and share it to their friends.
