MrBigBoots | 2 comments I read this book about a decade ago I believe.
The main character on the human side of the story had a sword named snikt, his dwarf friend was blind since dwarves were subterranean and didn't gel well with sunlight, and early in the story he gets into trouble since there's a religious group of some sort that has staves that if they're aimed at people with special abilities like the main character they collapse. On the fairy side there's a war between the fairies that the main character's side can't feasibly win until she starts using the power of the dream that connects her world and the human world along with necromancy to turn the tide of the war.

Circle at Center?

MrBigBoots | 2 comments It isn't Circle At Center, I remember the book starts with the human main character going to a gathering of some sorts where the local religious group points a staff (I believe they called it a dragon staff?) at the people to find people with abilities like his and then they remove them.
