Question about Tavern Games Quest. This might just be me being dense, but for the "words in title" option... If we roll a "2", for example, do we need a book with two words in the title or a book with the number "2" in the title?
Oh man has anyone found an well written and interesting science book? I'm a biochemist and I know that most scientist don't always have a gift of making facts interesting...

It needs to be number in title you rolled. So if you roll 3, you can read Three Sisters
RebeccaS wrote: "Doesn't Crichton write science fiction?"Yes, he does.
But in that second post I've linked Kelly said I will give you Crichton books though since those tend to be based in real science. :)
That's why I linked it ;)

RebeccaS wrote: "Doesn't Crichton write science fiction?"It can also be softer sciences (sciences tags). Psychologies or economics or something. It doesn't have to be textbook like.

That one was good but gross. We did it as a BOM awhile back.

Congratulations, Rebecca the Dragon Slayer!A few science books which I found really interesting and/or funny

Can't wait for them to start :)
Great update, Mods!
I love the scrounging quest! and I will have my horse real soon to use with the blanket and tournament. Are any of the current quests going to expire?
Cathy wrote: "Are any of the current quests going to expire?"Looks like no. :)
But we can change that if you insist :P
Cathy wrote: "I have heard good things about Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers so I might use that."I actually own that one, but was never able to get past the beginning. Maybe I will try again, but I'm totally squeamish about those things.

[bookcover:The Mould In Dr Florey'..."Awesome thanks NancyHelen! I'm definitely going to check those out. I read another book by Bill Bryson and I really liked the way he writes.
Ahh I'm so excited about the August quests...but now I feel even more behind! Must! Do! More! Quests!
Oh my god that Rat Stew Midas Quest was so hilarious. I could not stop laughing!!! Wasn't that our first convo here Tea? Actually you mods do a fab job with all of them. Thank you for making this so fun!
And pretty pretty please don't expire any quests :)
Awesome August Update!I bow to your truly fearsome hydra -- now that's a monster no one going to one shot. :-)
I'm just popping in from a long day of being all over the place. I'm starting to hate driving:( oh I see we have new quest. Hmm I need to go see what they are and also what's expiring. I still ah e so much to catch up on. :/

Tea writes almost all the Midas quests :) She takes her gold seriously.

Reva wrote: "A few questions:Can you explain the area of effect of the blanket?
What does the puppy do?"
Ahh things for the future :) The Area of Effect will be useful for the monster next month and works generally like area of effect spells work in games. It will be for particular types of monsters but very useful for those.
The puppy is a secret :) Right now you just get cuteness but there's other plans afoot so I'd like to keep his training a secret for awhile longer.
You can choose to postpone those if you'd like til you see the updates on them. There's plenty of other things to work on.
Reva wrote: "Can ginger be in the title of the book?Ie White Ginger?"
Sure. I'll give you titles too.
ThanksThis is confusing:
and alka (read a book where the author's initials (all listed) can be found in ALKA)
Example?
Do we need to cover all letters of alka?
Or
Have an author Albert King. Whose initials are A & K
Reva wrote: "What's a smooth book?"Heh, I tried oily first. There's not good books tagged with oily.... But yes. I did add a shelf to help with. You can expand from that shelf if you want to justify your choice.

Yes, Albert King that would work.
All listed is either first and last or first, middle and last depending on how the author writes their name.
I wrote 3 business books in the 1980's under my corporation SBN Small Business Network. I didn't use my name. I can give you the ISBN's1. Starting a Business
2. Accounting, Bookkeeping and Cash Management
3. Marketing, Advertising and Promotion
Would any of these be ok?
Question re:• The Hydra - Lust - This head craves your weapons. It's attack is based on the attack of your highest weapon. (Not including modifiers.)
?? Attack 100 Health - Reward: 40 Experience, 2 Minor Poison Potions
What is the attack?
Does this mean we cant apply orb or horse ?
If staff. Is level 16
Is attack 16 +2=18?
Question reHydra -Pride
Sword Lvl 5 (+ 6) = 11 ✯ Staff Level 16(+6) =22
Is it 16-5 = 11 then enhancers? (base +2, horse, orbs)
Or
16 +2 = 18 - (5+2= 7) = 11 then add enhancers (horse, orbs)

Which quest is this for?

The monster's attack to you is based on your highest weapon's attack. So if your staff is at level 11 and it's attack is 13. Then the monster's attack is 13.

For "Then read a science book to bring medicine into the 15th century."
Does this need to be a non-fiction science book? Or can science fiction genre count?
Too bad I'm finally done classes or I would definitely have a textbook that worked. ;)
